Step 1: Access your software and documentation


If you download your product from the IBM Passport Advantage site, follow the instructions in the download document at http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24018275. This product offering includes this Quick Start Guide, IBM Information Server Data Quality Module for SAP, and release notes. Step 3: Review the base architecture


The following diagram shows the main system components.

Step 4: Install and configure the product


To install the data quality module: 1. Install and configure the software listed in Step 1. 2. Prepare the SAP components. 3. Edit the command or shell script files for the services: v Update v Search v Index refresh v Postal validation 4. Run the postal validation quarterly adjustment. 5. Load the reference database.

Step 5: Run the error-tolerant search, duplicate check, or postal validation process
After you install the product and log in to the SAP system, you can run each process. To run the error-tolerant search process: 1. In SAP, call a transaction. Search for vendors, customers, or business partners. 2. From the initial display screen, select the appropriate choice for your search: v Vendors by Address Attributes (Fuzzy Search) v Customers by Address Attributes (Fuzzy Search) v Business Partners by Address Attributes (Fuzzy Search) 3. In the search window that opens, type the name of the vendor, customer, or business partner. 4. Press Enter to start the search. To run the duplicate check process: 1. In SAP, call a transaction type, such as create or change for a vendor, customer, or business partner. 2. Enter the data for the transaction and click the Save icon to check for duplicates. To run the postal validation process: 1. In SAP, call a transaction type, such as create or change for a vendor, customer, or business partner. 2. Enter the address for the transaction. Then click the Check Address or the Save icon to start the postal validation process.
