Trainer and Instructional Designer, Chicago, Illinois, Indiana and Battle Creek, Michigan Responsible for familiarizing self with concepts, software, hardware and mainframe applications while working independently as well as with staff/consultant to conduct training sessions, develop course manuals and design original course curriculum. Trained 650 people in five weeks on conversion to new software that enhanced standardization and communication between two recently merged companies. Self-taught on mainframe database in order to write user-friendly job aids that introduced Senior Level Consultants and Project Managers to the first corporate Human Resource Database that enabled the selection of customized client project teams based upon relevant consultant skill sets. Conceptualized, created and facilitated a six-hour training session, Leader's Guide and PowerPoint presentation, utilizing original photography, that complimented the existing college curriculum. Designed and taught eighteen college level and other courses to successfully meet syllabus requirements and expand student knowledge and skills. Taught a variety of twelve different computer classes on a monthly basis to diverse adult learners and received highest evaluation ratings. Lead on-stage training sessions at the Gateway Pavilion for a three-day McCormick Place conference.

Manager, Quality Assurance Responsible for the Q.A. Department which included maintaining ISO 9002 certification and planning for QS 9000 certification. Responsibilities included: customer claims processing and material disposition; corrective action process; measurement and calibration system; budget; audit preparation; and staff performance review and development. Assessed and developed untrained plant personnel into promotable Quality Professionals through on-the-job as well as contracted outside training. Created a highly successful cross-departmental training session that virtually eliminated corrective action rework. Prepared employees to successfully address auditor questions about the Quality System, as part of the company's continued ISO certification, by designing PowerPoint interactive, animated, self-paced Quality Quizzes. Developed a fourteen mini-training session series on product and process knowledge for new and experienced cross-departmental employees, subsequently recommended as a model for new and newly promoted employees.

Joseph T. Ryerson and Son, Chicago, Illinois (1985 - 1994)

Manager, Quality Assurance (1990 - 1994) Responsible for the Q.A. and Adjustment Services/Claims Departments as well as TQM and Employee Quality Programs. Designed and implemented a full-day training session for surveyors of national corporate employees that ultimately generated more than 1,000 cost and quality improvement opportunities. Conceived, designed and developed facilitator training sessions that enabled facilitators to lead their teams in the problem solving process, from initial brainstorming of ideas to final presentation to the Executive Committee.

Trainer, S.C.O.R.E. System (1989 - 1990) Responsible for conducting training for the new corporate computer system. Trained more than 100 previously untrained individuals at seven plants across the country to understand and utilize a newly instituted computer system designed to track and report customer orders.

Trainer/Consultant, SPC (1985 - 1989) Responsible for designing/implementing SPC throughout the Chicago Plant. Conceived, designed and developed a training program and support material for a course that accelerated the implementation and use of Statistical Process Control at all levels of the company.

Inland Steel Industries, East Chicago, Indiana (1984 - 1985)

Trainer/Consultant Successfully secured this assignment as a Trainer/SPC Consultant by presenting a training session on an SPC concept to a panel of five cross-discipline interviewers, without having attended an SPC class nor having a related college degree. Team-taught operations personnel a seven-day course on the purpose and use of SPC for later application on their jobs.
