Paul Zikopoulos, George Baklarz, Matt Huras, Walid Rjaibi, Dale McInnis, Matthias Nicola, Leon Katsnelson. McGraw-Hill, May 2012. 4 stars. Watch Mr Zikopoulos talk. This book is also available for free download from ibm.com (normally we don't mention "free download" sites because they are pure piracy, but surely the ibm.com site is an exception). IBM DB2 9.7 Advanced Application Developer Cookbook Sanjay Kumar, Mohankumar Saraswatipura. Packt, March 2012. 4 stars. Read a sample chapter. Read Hayes's review. DB2 9.7 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows Database Administration: Certification Study Notes Roger E. Sanders. MC Press, November 2011. 4 stars. Read Milligan's review (supplied by the publisher). Database Design and SQL for DB2 James Cooper. MC Press, April 2013. 2.5 stars. This is MC Press's best-selling title. It's unfair that the book got only 2.5 stars on amazon.com -- the complaints were merely that the book is targeted for beginners. Read a sample chapter. SAP Database Administration with IBM DB2 Andre Faustmann, Michael Greulich, Andr Siegling, Ronny Zimmermann. SAP Press, July 2013. No rating. Read an extract. DB2 10.1 Fundamentals: Certification Study Guide Roger E. Sanders. MC Press, November 2013. Not published yet. Mr Sanders has written several DB2 books, including earlier DB2 study guides. Phil Sevetson comments: "I passed the DB2 9 Fundamentals exam a couple of hours ago, after intermittent study over the past year; three things contributed to my success: ... 3) This was critical: Buying and reading (almost) all of Roger Sanders' DB2 9 Fundamentals Certification Study Guide, and taking most of the tests in it. ... The Sanders guide was, to say it again, critical. The material is tough, and the author does not attempt to simplify. He breaks things down by subject area and puts sample test questions after each chapter, allowing the student to do focused review." DB2 Essentials: Understanding DB2 in a Big Data World (3rd Edition) Raul Chong, Clara Liu. IBM Press, November 2013. Not published yet. Read a review of an earlier book by Chong et al. Interview Questions and Answers for DB2 10.1 Robert Wingate. CreateSpace (a https://www.createspace.com/">selfpublishing site), August 2012. No rating. Mr Wingate has done many short books for DB2 certification / exam questions / interview questions. We don't list them all. DB2 10 for z/OS: The Smarter, Faster Way to Upgrade John Campbell, Cristian Molaro, Sureka Parekh. MC Press, November 2011. No rating. Two of the authors are IBM employees. Read IBM's description. Read a chapter by John Campbell in IBM's free and historically interesting (but slow to download) book IBM DB2: The Past, Present & Future.
