SECTION Separate the hair into four segments, keeping the style of the hair in mind.

BLOW DRYING AND STRAIGHTENING Dry the hair until it is 80% dry and use straighteners on 1.5cm thick strands.

Beginning 1cm from the scalp, smooth the hair with the straightening irons, allowing them to slowly glide along the length of the hair in one continuous movement. Repeat two times on each meche until all the hair is straight and smooth. Thisshould take no longer than 20 minutes. Do not rinse.

DETERMINE THE SENSITIVITY OF THE HAIR Identify the texture in relation to the state of the hair and place this over the corresponding type. 3 POSSIBLE OPTIONS Use the small tab to slide the sensitivity type over the hair thickness type. NATURAL  SENSITIVE (eg: tone on tone; colouring carried out to 20 Vol.)  VERY SENSITIVE (eg: very highlighted hair, bleached, porous, split ends, etc.)

TIPS FOR USING X-TENSO MOISTURIST

APPLY ON UP TO 30% EVENLY DISTRIBUTED HIGHLIGHTED HAIR: X-Tenso Moisturist can be applied on up to 30% evenly distributed highlighted hair, using 30 vol oxydant, as long as the more sensitive areas are protected using a liss ultime masque. APPLICATION TECHNIQUE: Always follow the natural direction of hair growth THE STRAND TEST: For each new client, carry out a strand test of the product after evaluation. IF THE HAIR BREAKS, DO NOT USE THE PRODUCT, or any other permanent straightening product.

Aftercare
As part of the X-Tenso Moisturist service, you can suggest a home care programme for the client, recommending srie expert, tecni art and texture expert products, which have been designed to smooth and nourish the hair.

X-Tenso Moisturist
 Do not apply to very sensitised hair, pre-lightened hair using more than 20 volume, hair with more than 30% highlights or hair coloured with permanent colour using more than 30 volume  Do not use on the same day as a permanent oxidation process. However, an application of Symbio, Richesse de Diacolor or Diacolor Gele can be made with reduced development time of 5 minutes  Do not use X-Tenso Moisturist on hair that has been previously relaxed/ straightened with a relaxing cream containing Sodium Hydroxide  Do not use on hair relaxed with a product (non-lye) containing either Potassium Hydroxide (potash), or Lithium Hydroxide (lithine), or Guanidine Carbonate

How to carry out a test meche

 Isolate a small 2cm x 2cm section  Apply X-Tenso Moisturist Smoothing cream suitable for the hair type to the section. (Do not cover)  Allow to develop for the recommended time Rinse thoroughly  Apply X-Tenso Moisturist Neutralising Cream for 5 minutes. Re-apply for a further 5 minutes  Rinse thoroughly for 3 minutes  Check results. If the hair is damaged or broken after the test, do not continue with the application NB: Test meche can be carried out before or on the day of the clients appointment.

KNOT TEST
Check the hair regularly during the development time using the knot test as a guide. Isolate a meche of hair about 1mm thick (6 to 10 hairs) and 1.  test elasticity every 5minutes.

2.  Make a knot with the meche of hair in the most sensitised area.

3.  Gently tighten the knot. Hold knot between two hands and try to undo it by pushing on the two ends of the meche.

4.  If the knot loosens, leave the straightening cream on longer and redo the test after 5 minutes. If the knot holds rm, development is over and the hair is straightened enough. Undo the knot. Rinse thoroughly (for approx 5 minutes) to eliminate all traces of cream. With a dryer, blast dry the hair until 80% dry.
