"HOW TO ANALYSE A HOROSCOPE IN THREE MINUTES"
A National Conference on Futurology and Astrology was organized by Bharat
Nirman in New Delhi in December 1993. I was invited to deliver a talk on the
subject of TECHNIQUES OF PREDICTIONS. Well, while there are various
techniques including application of Parashari System, Jaimini System, Tajak
System, etc., I chose the subject "HOW TO ANALYSE A HOROSCOPE IN
THREE MINUTES". I am sharing my views with the readers, which will help
them in their efforts of helping the humanity with minimum use of time. I will
discuss the matter in a step-wise manner.
STEP I
Transform (Fill in) the horoscope in the following format:

THE ASCENDING DEGREE IS TO BE TREATED AS MOST EFFECTIVE POINT
OF ALL HOUSES.
STEP II.
Note down the functional malefics for the ascendant as per SYSTEMS'
APPROACH. For the sample horoscope the functional malefics, as per
SYSTEMS' APPROACH, are as under: RAHU, KETU, JUPITER AND SATURN
STEPIII.

NOTE DOWN THE WEAK PLANETS.

WEAK PLANETS IN THE SAMPLE HOROSCOPE

- In Infancy (i.e. longitude less than 5 degrees in a particular sign)
- In old age (i.e. the longitude more than 25 degrees in a particular sign)
- In debilitation
- In combustion
- Debilitated in navamsa
- Bad placement (i.e. in the 6th, 8th or 12th houses)
- In the mooltrikona sign of a weak planet. i.e. weakness of dispositor

IDENTIFY AFFLICTED & SEVERELY AFFLICTED PLANETS.

AFFLICTED PLANETS
Afflicted planets are those that are closely conjunct with or closely aspected
by functional malefics noted above. (Step II).
Close conjunction/aspect as per Systems' Approach means location within a
longitudinal difference of 5 degrees.

SEVERELY AFFLICTED PLANETS
Those planets that are weak, badly placed and afflicted are treated as

STEP V
Identify close auspicious conjunctions/aspects, placements i.e. of functional
benefics amongst themselves or to the mid-points of houses.
AUSPICIOUS CONJUNCTIONS

- Mars to the mid-point of the sixth house.

Noting down the strength of functional malefics is also necessary because

as explained earlier, every planet has many roles to play.
STEP VII
ASSESS LONGEVITY
If a Mooltrikona sign rises in the ascendant pay special attention to the
longevity by seeing the strength of planets and the functional nature of the
operating planets i.e. the main and sub-period lords. Most of the planets
being weak and severe, afflictions to the ascendant or to the ascendant lord
with operating period of functional malefics give short life. Similarly placed
planets with operating period of functional benefics give middle span of life.
Weak planets keep the significations to a lower level, if unafflicted. Severely
afflicted planets cause tragedies or fatal diseases. The operating periods
reduce/increase the impact. Pay special attention to the transit strength of
operating planets.
STEP VIII
ASTRAL REMEDIES
Two way astral remedies are suggested. Charities or propitiatory methods
for functional malefics. Strengthening measures for weak functional benefic
planets through KAVACH made of mystical numbers, Color and Gem
Therapy.
Effective remedial measures have been suggested for various ascendants at
the end of each Chapter on the twelve ascendants. These remedial
measures help in warding off the evils and generating good results for the
native concerned.
PREDICTIONS/INDICATIONS IN CONCERNED PLANETARY PERIODS
SAMPLE HOROSCOPE

ASCENDANT
The sign Cancer rises, which is ruled by the Moon. The Moon is personified
as a queen in the planetary cabinet. With strong, well-placed and unafflicted
Moon, the native was born in an affluent family.
SUN
The Sun rules the house of status and is well placed and unafflicted. The
Sun gave a senior position to the native in a governmental organization.
MARS
The weakness of Mars created many tense moments in his professional
career. During the sub-period of Mars in the main period of Venus he could
not be promoted in spite of the authorities intending to promote him because
of the representation of other officers. The circumstances changed at the
eleventh hour. The native's dynamism was thereby reduced.
MERCURY
The good and unafflicted placement of Mercury indicates his intelligence,
initiatives, good communication skills and sharp intellect. This is one of the
reasons of his acquiring his present status.
JUPITER
Good placement of Jupiter indicates and has given graceful and pleasant
personality. He has been blessed with children including a son. He enjoys
good physical health with slight problem of hypertension because of
Jupiter's conjunction (as a functional malefic) with Venus, the lord of the
fourth house ruling the heart and its functioning.
VENUS
Strong but afflicted. Due to affliction gives mental tension in its operating
period, which generated the problem of hypertension. Strong Venus rules
the fourth house and gives comforts, pleasant disposition of wife and
affluent assets. Gave good education in the fields of finance and law ruled
by Venus.
SATURN
Rules the eighth house and the longevity in particular as its mooltrikona sign
is placed in the eighth house. Eighth house rules inheritance, longevity and
marital tie. The good placement of strong Saturn enables it to bear the

affliction of functional malefic Ketu to a large extent. During the operating

periods of Saturn and Ketu some amount of tension generates for the
significations of the Saturn in general and eighth house in particular
RAHU
Occupies its sign of exaltation in the eleventh house. This gives material
affluence and as it is unafflicted and quite away from the mid point of the
eleventh house, there are very remote chances of a sizable loss. However,
in its operating periods it delays and denies the fulfilment of desires.
KETU
It does not form any close conjunction/aspect other than the Saturn,
discussed above, under the planet Saturn.
GENERAL
During transit, whenever functional malefics form close conjunction/aspect
with the weak/afflicted natal positions, which are the Sun, Mars and Saturn in
the sample horoscope, problems with regard to the significations ruled by
these planets, may be expected to be triggered.
The author is confident that the above example will provide the students with
an extremely simple, yet accurate, method of comprehension of the
horoscopes being studied by him. Further enrichment of the analytical
faculties and skills will be achieved by going through the numerous case
studies included in this book as well as other books by the same author,
which are all based on the Systems' Approach propounded by him.
