Nelita Flores a 68 year old female, a business woman, from Pico, La Trinidad. She wants to learn about Hypertension and management for it and she prefers Tagalog as a medium of instruction. Shes fun of eating fried food a nd she exercise by walking. LEARNING NEED: Hypertension and its management LEARNING DIAGNOSIS: Knowledge deficit: Elevated blood pressure and its management related to unfamiliarity with information resources as manifested by clients verbalization.

GOAL: After a series of nursing education, the patient would be knowledgeable about hypertension and its management BLOS After 15 minutes of interactive lecture discussion regarding hypertension, the patient will be able to: 1. LEARNING CONTENT Hypertension is a systolic blood pressure greater than 140mmHg and a diastolic pressure greater than 90mmHg over a sustained period. Etiology Primary hypertension- no definite cause Secondary hypertension- result from other disease

Prevention and Management Proper nutrition- reduce salt and fat intake Prevent becoming overweight or obese-weight reduction through proper nutrition and exercise Avoid cigarettes and restrict alcohol intake Aerobic exercise
