P & G PLAZA, CARDINAL GRACIAS ROAD, CHAKALA, ANDHERI EAST, MUMBAI

Dear Colleague You would all know of the Dinner combined with the 3 rd AGM held in Bombay on Sat. 8th Feb. 2014. The venue was the Kudos Banquet Hall at the Boomerang Business Park, Chandivli, Mumbai 400 099. Well here is synopsis of the event. First of all a big thanks to all those who participated to make the function enjoyable and a success. It was different experience due to the new location and unique ambiance. Despite the traffic and distance (for some) there were nearly 60 of the fraternity present. By 8 PM we had 70% of the group assembled and welcomed with drinks and some very delectable snacks. People munched on: Arancini Silicana; Hara Bhara Kebab; Thai Herb Vegetables; Chicken Satay; Fish Fingers & Mutton Seekh Kebabs The meeting started with the launch of the new PGAAI Web site which was created and developed by Mr. KV Laxminarayan (KVL) and introduced to the group by him. Mr. Bharat Patel (BVP) formally launched the site. The Site provides a comprehensive profile of PGAAI with the Objectives, Managing Committee members, names of Members, highlights of events held, special announcements and other relevant and useful information. It will be reviewed and updated and shortly launched once some more work is completed. Mr. Arun Bewoor (AB) then articulated and expanded on one important objective of the PGAAI which was education of the Girl Child from the less privileged sections of society. This aligns well with P&Gs own Shiksha effort. The 2 NGOs selected to drive this initiative are the World Vision of India and SPARSH, which is the trust that runs Shantiniketan School (SNEH) a school run by 2 ex: P&G employees and who were present at the dinner. Until now we have collected Rs. 1,61,000 against a target of Rs. 5,00,000. Mr Bewoor urged PGAAI members to donate generously through PGAAI for the selected NGOs. We then invited PGI Alumni Sumeet Mehta and Smita Deorah, who manage SPARSH, Ahemadabad, Gujarat (http://www.sneschool.org/) to brief the audience on what their school does and how PGAAI support will further help the girls studying in the school to complete their education and not be burdened to help at home or worse forced into early marriage.

BVP thanked Ms Latika Khosla for designing the new PGAAI logo and to Mr. Khosla for PGIs donation of Rs. 5,00,000 made 2 years ago. KVL then gave a brief demo of the Site which was interesting and exciting as we now have one common platform to share our views, provide comments, make suggestions plus track progress of the Association is involved in and what it further wants to do. This was followed by the AGM reported separately It was now 9.30 PM and dinner was announced. The menu consisted of: Chicken Rara masala; Fish Goan Curry; Paneer Tikka Lababdar; Sarson Ka Saag; Dal Makhani; Veg Pulao; Assorted rotis including Makkai roti with the Sarson Ka Saag; and several salads- Green; Coleslaw and Bean sprouts. Desserts consisted of: Gajar halwa; Gulab Jamun; Kulfi falooda To forewarn everyone present and absent the next get -together was decided to be held on Saturday 20th December 2014. A BIG THANK YOU to Mr. Subhash Shahani, who identified the venue & finalized the menu after factoring all the inputs given by members of the Managing Committee. In all this Treasurer Mr. Sunil Haribal played a stellar role in getting everything organized including Accounts & all the logistics. A big thank you to Sunil. Thanks is also due to Pankaj Joshi for continuing with the Beer supply for the evening & above all, were grateful to Jayram Rao who took over the responsibility to click pictures of the evening & share.
