This transformation started with a clear mandate from government to build a 21st century model for lottery and gaming in the province. It is an incredible opportunity for us and for the industry as a whole. The focus of our reform is on becoming more customer-focused, expanding the regulated private sector delivery of lottery and gaming and renewing OLGs role in oversight.

Our modernization plans, in parallel with our iGaming initiative already underway, will increase employment in the gaming sector by over 2,300 jobs. An additional 4,000 service sector jobs will be generated in the hospitality and retail sectors. Ontario will see $3 billion in new private sector investment. In 2017, we will provide an incremental $1.3 billion annually to our shareholder, the Provincial Government. While we are transforming the way we do business, our commitment to maintaining a gold standard in Responsible Gambling remains unchanged. Ontario will continue to be a North American leader in Responsible Gambling and our support for prevention, treatment and research will increase. 2:10pm-3:00pm Sports Betting Legislation and Regulation Room 204 In a major amendment to Canadian gaming legislation, the Criminal Code will shortly permit single-event sports betting in Canada. Canadian casinos will therefore be able to offer bettors the ability to place single bets on the biggest sports events of the year. It is expected that this will lead to increased scrutiny of sportsbetting activities and potential match-xing in Canada. This process is already well developed in Europe and Australia as sportsbetting has come under a microscope internationally as a result of escalating issues around integrity. As well, sportsbetting remains a hotly contested issue in the United States (most recently in New Jersey) raising questions about the likely development of the law governing sportsbetting in the States over the next few years.
