Comfort Food Night March 28

Join us on March 28th, 5-7:30 PM for an especially delicious occasion to benefit the Interfaith Food Pantry. Enjoy an evening of tasty comfort foods and sitcoms from the 60s. Please RSVP to make a reservation, call Lorraine Houk at 443-0460. Location: Westminster Presbyterian

Faith & Hunger Network Summit: RSVP Today!

Communities of Faith Working Together to End Hunger event is coming soon. Whether youre new to the work of advocacy or a seasoned veteran, we welcome you. Come learn, network, and take action steps to end hunger now. The focus this year will be on childhood hunger and income inequality. April 9th, 7-9 pm. There will be an optional soup dinner from 6-7pm. Please RSVP if you plan to attend. Please let us know if you will be joining the soup dinner. Dr. Shah Visits the Breakfast program

Dr. Shah, Commissioner of the New York State Department of Health visited the Breakfast Program on Tuesday morning. The commissioner visited with guests, toured the soup kitchen and interfaith food pantry. Advocates spoke with the commissioner about the issue of hunger in our community and the benefit of improved access to nutritious food.

Dr. Shah also visited the FOCUS Interfaith Food Pantry and spoke with manager Lorraine Houk.

The Living Compassion Workshop: Update


The Living Compassion Workshop series on nonviolent communication has been pushed forward one week. The first evening of the workshop scheduled for this past Wednesday night was cancelled due to the weather, but will kickoff next Wednesday, March 19. The workshop dates are: 3/19 ; 3/26; 4/2; 4/9

Advocacy Spotlight

FOCUS Participates in Economic Security Campaign (ES2) March 12, FOCUS joined Hunger Action Network and advocates from all over New York State in the ES2. A coalition of over 200 organizations with a shared mission to end income inequality in New York State by improving access to education, food, affordable housing, living wages, and a more fair and just tax structure in New York.

Scholarships Still Available for Ecumenical Advocacy days! March 21-24 Contact FOCUS today for a scholarship. This years conference will feature advocacy training and education about work to promote justice and peace in our communities on a local, national, and international level.

Sharon Smith to Visit FOCUS March 26, 8am Executive Director of the Food Bank Association of New York State will visit the FOCUS Breakfast Program. Please RSVP if you plan to attend. All are welcome to join in the conversation.
