Job Profile & Responsibilities Network Responsibilities Monitoring and maintaining Cisco 12410 Internet Gateway Router connected with Eleven 2.5Gbps, seven 10 Gbps and three 1 Gbps core Links connecting the state NIC centres, provided by BSNL , RAILTEL and POWER GRID for Internet and NICNET connectivity . Installing and monitoring 155 Mbps OFC STM-1 and STM-2 lines (supporting up to 63 individual 2 Mbps connections) serving as a backbone, through which individual 2 Mbps and 34 Mbps leased line connections are established with all NIC West Bengal District Head Quarters. As a part of NKN project of Govt. of India all the configuration regarding network and security of these high end network IIT Patna, IIT KGP, Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, VARIABLE ENERGY CYCLOTRON CENTRE, Indian council of Agricultural Research Patna are already connected with our NIC NOC through 1 Gbps links provided by BSNL, RAILTEL and PGCIL .At present as the second phase of NKN project all state universities are going to be connected to NIC NOC through 1 Gbps links.. Installation, maintenance and network troubleshooting of DOP(District post office) ,PAO(Pay and accounts) , CGHS(Central Govt Health Scheme) , BOI(Bureau of Immigration) and PQFS (Plant Quarantine and Fumigation Station) offices of the state which are connected though 2mbps and 34 mbps links .

Providing IT services such as setting up and troubleshooting of WAN Network Internet Connectivity to various Central and State Government Departments through Leased Lines. Maintenance of backbone of Core Network Links in co-ordination with PGCIL, RAILTEL, BSNL for the Eastern Region. Continuous monitoring of all Leased Line Networks, Network Bandwidth usage of all Links and connectivity status of all Routers / Switches through NMS Software like WhatsUp Gold, Spectrum, MRTG. Providing NIC Video Conferencing facility & consultancy / support/ installation to different Organizations through Leased Line. Fixing Connectivity Problems. Isolate and diagnose network problems involving TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS. Upgrade Network hardware and software components as required. Involved in the team which manages Video Conferencing at all Levels {Central Information Commission (CIC), Different Ministries, Various Government level training} across the Eastern region in co-ordination with HO. Planning, Co-ordinating, Surveying, Installing, Maintaining & Troubleshooting of various Internet related Equipments (Cisco ASR 1002, Cisco 3800, 1700, 1800 and 2900 Series Router, Juniper M10i, Juniper MX80 and 2950 Series Switch) at different Government Organizations. SYSTEM RESPONSIBLITIES Monitoring and maintaining of Data Centre containing 6 4U blade severs, 10 2U blade servers and 5 1U blade servers which uses the RedHat Enterprise Linux 6. Maintains Web servers which host Government of India portals, DNS servers, Mail servers, Antivirus Server. Maintaining the Network Monitoring NMS servers like WhatsUP Gold, MRTG. Checking the antivirus component version and updation of antivirus of each server in daily basis. Troubleshooting the antivirus problems of the servers as well as the clients. Checking the disk space and services running in the Oracle application, Oracle database and apache tomcat servers. Technical Proficiency Planning & Designing Design a simple LAN using Cisco Technology. Design an IP addressing scheme to meet design requirements. Select an appropriate routing protocol based on user requirements. Design a simple internetwork using Cisco technology. Develop an access list to meet user specifications. Choose WAN services to meet customer requirements. Modification and maintenance of MRTG Server. Implementation & Operation Configure routing protocols given user requirements. Configure IP addresses, subnet masks, and gateway addresses on routers and hosts. Configure a router for additional administrative functionality. Successful progress in NKN & NMEICT projects at various Organizations such as CDAC, IICB, RG KAR, CNMC, CGCRI, Various Universities/Colleges, IITs, NICED, NIBMG, IISER, VECC, SINP, NITTTR, IICB, NIH, NPTI, IJT, NIFT, CPRI, BCKV,IIM etc. First Successful implementation of NMEICT project in Eastern Region at ANIMAL & FISHERY INSTITUTE at WB. Successful Implementation of 1st ever NKN Seminar cum Workshop at West Bengal held in Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), which included Delegates from Various NKN and NMEICT Institutes, Technical Directors, Senior Technical Directors, State Informatics Officers (SIO) of NIC from various states of India. Was the member of planning and implementation team for the shifting of NIC NOC from NIC Kolkata District Centre (Rawdon Street) to NKN POP Kolkata (CGO Complex, Nizam Palace) with least down time(1 hour). Was the member of planning and implementation team for the shifting of NIC Kolkata Data Center from NIC Kolkata District Centre (Rawdon Street) to NKN POP Kolkata (CGO Complex, Nizam Palace) with no down time.
