CIMCO DNC-Max and CIMCO Edit require license key file to be able to run as licensed version. This document shows how it works.
Once the software is installed, if you are not a registered customer, it will function as 30 days time limited evaluation version. If you are a registered customer, our office will email you a file called license.key There are two types of license key files: Temporary & Permanent. Example of a Temporary key file (opened in v5 License Key Manager):

The temporary license key file is timed but allows the software to run as a licensed version (within the time limit) without require Activation Key. The Permanent license key file is not timed and requires Activation Key. Step 1: Install license.key file: Method A (v4 & v5): Copy license.key file to the CIMCO Edit & DNC-Max folder (The license key could be emailed to you in the format of Customer Name-60 dayslicense.key Please rename it to license.key)

For example: Verision 4: C:\CIMCO\CIMCOEdit4 C:\CIMCO\DNCMax4 Version 5: C:\CIMCO\CIMCOEdit5 C:\CIMCO\DNCMax5 (If you only purchased CIMCO Edit then dont worry about the DNC-Max folder.) Method B (v5 only): Install with the License Key Manager: Once you have installed DNC-Max v5 or CIMCO Edit v5, you can double click on your license.key file ( ) to start up the License Key Manager:

Click on Show Info will show you the products that youve purchased. To install the keyfile, check the product(s) on the check boxes then click on Install Keyfile. You will see a confirmation message:

Step 2: Get Activation Key from the Web CIMCO Edit and DNC-Max each require its own Activation Key. The steps of getting Activation Key are the same.

Once youve done Step 1, start up the software. If your license key file is the Permanent license key file, you will be prompted with an Activation Key request window:

If this computer is not connected to internet, skip to Step 3. If this computer is connected to internet, click on You can obtain the Activation Key by clicking on this text, this will take you to CIMCO Softwares web site Activation Key Generation section:

Note that the System Identification Number from your computer is already in the right place, just click on Get Activation Key and you will see a page like this: (If you get an error, please contact our support department info on the last page.)

The sample number shown C6E0B43B is the Activation Key, highlight it and copy it with Ctrl + C or right mouse click:

Now, go to the software Activation Key request window and paste (Ctrl + V) the Activation Key in the white space as shown here:

Click OK and your software will be up and running. Step 3: Get Activation Key from the Web when the current computer is not connected to the Internet If the current computer (the computer that is requesting Activation Key) is not connected to the internet, then you need to write down the System Identification Number and go to a computer that has internet connection or call someone who has the internet access such as our support department and have them get the Activation Key for you by going through the following procedure:

We need to get the Activation Key manually (Instead of click on You can obtain the Activation Key by clicking on this text): Go to http://www.cimco-software.com & click on SUPPORT to go to the Support page (shown in the blue box below):

On the support page, click on CIMCO Activation Key (as shown in the blue box):

This will bring up a page where you can type in the System Identification Number:

Type in the System Identification Number (SIN) as shown below in the blue box (the SIN shown is just an example):

Now, click on Get Activation Key and you will get the Activation Key. Here is an example: (If you get an error, please contact our support department info on the last page.)

The sample number shown C6E0B43B is the Activation key, please write down the one shows on your screen. Now, go to the software Activation Key require window and type in the Activation Key in the white space as shown here:

Click OK and your software will be up and running.

Important note: The Activation Key can only be generated once for each System Identification Number.
