OREGON COMMUNITY HEALTH INFORMATION NETWORK A community of health information network was formed in Oregon.

In general, it is a non profit network formed by collaboration of public as well as private health systems. This was formed in order to help people who would be easily affected by physical or emotional injury. This network manages a common management network system as well as Electronic medical record system to help the citi ens of Oregon who are either not insured or underinsured. !esearch infrastructure is also built for these health systems.

O"#I$ came into e%istence due to the collaborations of health systems so as to provide reserach facilities to the community healthcare centers. !esearch facilities include taking up research initiatives, develop contracts, supporting the researching staffs, provide implementation as well as completion of project and adhere to legal re&uirements. O"#I$ is an affordable medical home for people who are seeking medical help and are unable to take medication. The main reason for their inability to take medication is low income or people who are not insured and do not have surplus money for spending. O"#I$ had been initiated in '()* by community health center. It was started as a volunteer women+s clicnic but now developed into a fully fledged clinic at four sites including a school based health center for people in Oregon. O"#I$ has produced products. It provides the complete service from the point of selling, installing

as well as optimi ing the products. The products include 2ractice managemnt, Electronic #ealth !ecord and eE#!. They provide training and ade&uate information on use of these product so they can be used effectively in the clinics by the clinicians and staff. The prime motive for developing these products is to include secured health information abouth the patients so that they can be used in web based portal. 1uch a system ensures that the patients and doctors communicate easily and most importantly securedly over the internet. This product enables the patients to contact the doctors at any point of time. O"#I$ is into many services such as /ata services, 3usiness services, !esearch, 2ractice transfromation and !esearch as well. The main aim of setting up the research center is to care for the undeserved people, improve the &uakity of health care provided to the uninsured as well as inform policy of health through the process of research. This research center in unlike other centers as it is not affiliated to a particular health center but it is setup in collaboration with 5ederally 6ualified health centers and !ural health centers.
