To, The Chief Election Commissioner Election Commission of India Nirvachan Sadan,Ashoka Road New Delhi-110001 18 MAR 2014

Subject- Seeking Information Regarding the Status of Introducing Paper Trail in the Electronic Voting Machine As Per The Judgment of Honorable Supreme Court Respected Sir, This mail is with reference to the Supreme Court Judgment for Civil Appeal No 9093 of 2013, Dr Subramanian Swamy Vs Election Commission of India (with writ Petition No 406 of 2012). The case was with respect to the petition filed on the issue of the authenticity of the Electronic Voting Machine and the issue of incorporating a system of paper trail/paper receipt in the Electronic Voting Machine as a convincing proof that the Electronic Voting Machine has rightly registered the vote cast by a voter in favor of a particular candidate. In this respect the Honorable Supreme Court permitted the Election Commission of India to introduce the paper trail and paper receipt of the EVM based voting in a gradual manner during the general election. We thus request you to kindly file a status report as to what extent Election Commission is going to implement the Supreme Court order during the ensuing general election. We also would like to know as to whether any security audit of the electronic voting machines is done in order to make sure that they are tamper proof. Given the enormity of the

importance that this General Election, we hereby also request you to introduce the paper trail across all the polling booths and constituencies of India. Kindly consider this as a formal request/petition. We reserve our right to approach the Honorable Supreme Court/ Honorable High Court Seeking redressal in the Present Issue.
