TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: GENERAL The scope covers the design, engineering, manufacture, testing at Manufacturers works before dispatch, packing and forwarding, transportation, insurance, handling, delivering at site, proper storage at site, erection testing and commissioning of the transformers of following rating complete with all materials, accessories and fittings, erection & maintenance tools & tackles, mandatory spares, OLTC and TCC cubicle and terminal connectors with first filling of transformer oil including e!tra oil re"uired during guarantee period, as detailed in this specification# $a% 1.1.2. &' M(), *+,k(-++ k(, three phase, two winding transformer

The design and workmanship shall be in accordance with the best engineering practices to ensure satisfactory performance throughout the service life# )ny material and e"uipments not specifically stated in this specification but which are necessary for satisfactory operation of the e"uipment shall be deemed to be included unless specifically e!cluded and shall be supplied without any e!tra cost# Components having identical rating shall be interchangeable#

The supply of all materials for connecting the neutral ends to form neutral point and grounding connection thereof shall also be included in the scope of supply# The performance of the e"uipment shall be guaranteed as per Secti ! Ot(e& Tec(!ic%) P%&tic$)%&*+# The bidder has to furnish the testing facilities available at the manufacturers works# T&%!*. &t%ti ! /t shall be the sole responsibility of the Contractor to transport as well as unload the transformer to the specified sites# The Contractor shall be responsible to select and verify the route, mode of transportation and make all necessary arrangements with the appropriate authorities for the transportation of the e"uipment# The dimension of the e"uipment shall be such that when packed for transportation, it will comply with re"uirement of loading and clearance restrictions for the selected route# /t shall be the responsibility of the contractor to coordinate the arrangement for transportation of the transformer for all the stages from the manufacturer0s work to site# )ll metal blanking plates and covers which are specifically re"uired to transport the transformer shall be considered part of the transformer and handed over to the purchaser after completion of the erection# 1ill of "uantity and relevant drawings of these items shall also be included in the manual to enable the purchaser to have it re2 manufactured, if re"uired# The details of the proposed method of transportation shall be submitted for approval# T(e t&%!*/ &0e&* / 20 M1A %!' %2 3e *(%)) .&e/e&%2)4 2e t&%!*. &te' ! " #S.eci/ic Tec(!ic%) Re;$i&e0e!t*+ of the 9pecification# 1.4 GUARANTEE< AN< OTHER TECHNICAL PARTICULARS The bidder shall furnish all the :uaranteed and other technical particulars for the offered Transformer as called for in Secti ! 5ach drawing shall be identified by a drawing number and each subse"uent resubmission-revision or addition to the drawing shall be identified by a revision number# )ll drawings shall be thoroughly checked for accuracy and completeness and signed by a responsible officer of the Contractor on his behalf# )ny mistakes or errors in drawings shall not form a basis for seeking e!tension of delivery period# <&%5i!6* %!' WOR> SCHE<ULE The tenderer shall furnish with his offer a detailed programme for manufacturing and delivery, erection, testing and commissioning of the e"uipment offered by him in the form of master network identifying key phases in the various areas of work# The 1idder shall attach a proposed 1ar or =5 T chart, starting from the date of letter of intent till completion as per delivery schedule The programme shall include but not limited to commencement and completion of all engineering and design works including the time re"uired for the Consulting 5ngineers comments# T(e 5 &? *c(e'$)e *(%)) 2e 'i*c$**e' %!' /i!%)i*e' %t t(e ti0e / %5%&'. Transformers with tapping ranges e!tending more than &D below the nominal voltage shall meet the temperature rise limits specified in /96 ,',7 on all tapping# They shall operate continuously without in?urious heating# The loading of the transformers is to be accordance with /96 77'' E:uide for loading of oil immersed transformersF#

:G) 3)T55 1.14 GUARANTEEA E1ALUATION OF LOSSES F PENALTIES *#*@#* The /ndian 9tandards specification /96 ,*,7 allow certain tolerances for acceptance of the transformer no load and load losses# The 1idder shall indicate the :uaranteed values of 3o load losses $/ron losses%, load losses $copper losses% and au!iliary losses in his 1id# <e shall indicate whether losses are firm or sub?ect to tolerance# /n case losses are sub?ect to tolerance ceiling shall be indicated for tolerance# /n the absence of any information to this effect, the figures for no load and load losses $including au!iliary losses% will be increased by *'D as provided in /5C27''87 & /96 ,',7# )ny changes in the figures assigned for transformer loses will not be permitted after opening of the bids and bid evaluation will be carried out on the basis of information made available at the time of bid opening# The no load loss in kilo2watts at rated voltage and rated fre"uency and the total losses in kilo2watts at rated output, rated voltage and rated fre"uency shall be guaranteed under penalty, >or the purpose of penalty computations, the test figures of these losses shall be compared with the corresponding guaranteed figures# The penalties shall be separately evaluated from the e!cess of the test figures of the no2load loss in kilo2watts, over the corresponding guaranteed value and the e!cess of the difference between the test values of the total losses and the no2load loss in kilowatts, over the difference of the corresponding guaranteed values# 3o tolerance shall be permitted over the test figures of the losses# The penalties shall be calculated at the rate of s#*,,',,+&-2per kilo2watt for the e!cess of no2load loss, the rate of s# *,,@,7.@-2per kilo watt for the e!cess of difference in the total and the load losses and the rate of
