Penistone & Stockbridge MP to visit Quest in Recognition of Achievements

20th March 2014 Quest Taekwondo Penistone will be welcoming a very special visitor next month. Penistone and Stockbridges MP and Shadow leader of the house, Angela Smith, will be stopping by on the 12th of April at 9.00am. The reasons for her visit are simple; they stem from the shear scope of the clubs achievements. As well as being accredited Sport Englands Clubmark Award, Quest has received funding for their exceptional initiatives and training, amongst other accomplishments. Lead Coach Master Mike McKenzie; South Yorkshire Sports Coach of the Year, Sport Manager for London 2012, British Taekwondo Development Officer and most recently World Taekwondo Federation Technical Delegate for the 41st Dutch Open Championships, accredited the success of the club to the combined efforts of the dedicated management team of Quest Taekwondo Penistone. The management team make my role as lead coach very simple. I can concentrate on coaching whilst the day to day management of the club is taken care of by the committee. We are also part of the larger Quest family of clubs which always ensures we have skilled support in everything we do. The numerous programmes Quest has run, and is still running successfully, have also contributed to their recognition. The club has piloted the Taekwondo Satellite Club programme, Sportivate programme, Monstars and most recently, KickSister; British Taekwondos first female-only programme. As well as being known for their links to schools and other clubs, they are also acknowledged for the hosting of regular charity events for Red Nose Day, Children in Need and Weston Park Hospital. As a club who have been and continue to be successful at local, national and international events, with a junior member representing Great Britain at the European Championships in Portugal, Quest has additionally been an apt venue to host Olympic Legacy Seminars. In fact, in May 2014 Olympic Champion Jade Jones

herself will be joining the club accompanied by her prestigious coach Paul Green for a training seminar we cant wait! We would like to extend our congratulations to Quest, and once again express our pride in our clubs for representing British Taekwondo so very well.
