DRIVER/ HOMESTAY COORDINATOR Reports to: Coordinates with: Training Manager Training Office manager and all training

staff

Position Summary: The Driver/Homestay Coordinator is responsible directly to the Training Manager for all logistical and transportation support of the training program. He coordinates all assigned PreService Training activities and plans with the Training Office Manager. He is responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of the training equipment and supplies. He is responsible for safe transportation of all Training equipment, supplies, staff and trainees to and from the training site and learning activity locations. He is to maintain Trainees, Volunteers and Staff confidentiality at all times and demonstrate good judgment in and when sharing information. Tasks of the candidate: Survey training villages with the Training Team for Community Based Training (CBT) and make selection of all hosting families for both Language Trainers and Peace Corps Trainees. Help in the orientation process for villagers in preparation for CBT. Attend to all host family housing queries and report action plans to the Office Manager and the Language/Cross Culture Coordinator. Work hand in hand with the Office Manager in making sure that the necessary funds, equipment and resources for the implementation for the CBT are available. In conjunction with the Office Manager and in close collaboration with the Language Facilitators and the Language and Cross Culture Coordinator, ensure that Trainee homestay complaints regarding housing, furniture, relationships and security are resolved amicably and timely. Keep up to date records of all host family renovations and supplies. This will be included in the Office Manager report. Facilitate in the organization and plan for purchasing necessary supplies for CBT and to make sure that all necessary training materials and supplies are taken to each village as needed. Maintain clear inventory of all supplies given to Language and Cultural facilitators and trainees.

Assist with the logistics of organizing transportation of trainees and trainers to and from the village with their supplies. Drive Peace Corps staff, trainees and PCVs to various locations following PC policy in vehicle usage and safety procedures Assist the Office Manager organize transportation for trainees and trainers for a shopping day and Independence Day Celebration. Assist in making sure that handi-gas is purchased for trainees and trainers and delivered on time when finished and replaced when necessary. Under the instruction of the Office Manager, to purchase tea break supplies for each village and for the hub site and delivers the said supplies as needed. Work collaboratively with the Technical Training team in putting together effective community Technical trainings for the Trainees. Pick-up and deliver training mail from the Peace Corps main office. Pack all training items properly for storage and shipment when and where necessary under the instruction of the Office Manager. In support of training, serve as messenger for Peace Corps official operations and errands. Keep and maintain all assigned training vehicles in good running condition. Clean them daily and make sure that those who are traveling in them also observe the rule of keeping the vehicles clean and safe according to the Peace Corps policies. Assist training staff in their office duties and tasks as requested or assigned. Comply with posted speed limits and Swaziland government rules for proper operation of motor vehicles on the road. Respond to all Trainee and Trainer emergencies in all hours of the day and night for the duration of the contract. Perform other duties as assigned by the Training Manager.
