STORY Somali National Army and AMISOM troops are securing and conducting mopping exercises in Qoryooley following the towns capture from Al Shabaab yesterday in a two-pronged attack that caught the insurgents by surprise. The town located 120 kilometres southwest of the Somali capital Mogadishu previously served as a strong training and logistical base for the insurgents. The AMISOM Commander in-charge of the operation Brig. Dick Olum, from the Ugandan contingent says the capture of Qoryooley is just the beginning.
