LookingatthesuccessofrecenttitlessuchasindietitleFTL:FasterthanLight,and DoubleFineproductionsSpacebaseDF9wecanseeaspaceinthemarketforinteresting,lofi indietitleswithSciFithemesandnovelgameplay.ThePCspaceisgrowingasValvesSteam OSandaffordableSteamMachinegamingPCsaremakingPCgamingmuchmore accessiblewithlowerpricepointsatentry,andAndroid,IOSandWindowsPhoneareallsteadily growingplatforms,withlargepreexistinguserbases.

Playtesting Inresearchingforthisprojectwecreatedapaperprototypetofacilitatecheapandeasy prototyping,wethenplayedtesteditandgatheredevidencefromthesession,thefollowingare theplaytestnotes.

TheplayerlikenedthegametoSidMeyersCivilizationseries.Thesegamesarevery popularamongadultgamers(30+)ofallgendersandpeopleinterestedinhistory.This givesusanextrademographictolookintowhenmarketingthegame. 3.
