The topic came pretty easily to me. First of all, I am a Muslim so a topic related to Islam is inevitable. I have a some Islamic background knowledge. So, I knew that the time after the Hijrah (journey to Madinah) is the beginning of new Islamic part. There are many hadiths of this time. Many of these hadiths (prophet's sayings) are related to rights and responsibilities of Muslims, which fits the topic. A group of Muslims had to leave their home and belongings and emigrated to Madinah. The people of Madinah helped them to settle in the new land, which gave them the name Ansar meaning helpers. I tried to find the rights and responsibilities of the two groups: Muhajir (the people that left their home in Makkah and emigrate to Madinah) and Ansar (the people of Madinah that helped). To begin with my research, I searched in the internet and found out about the Madinah Charter. Madinah Charter is a peace document between Muhajir and Ansar. I read several books at my house that contain hadiths. I searched the books to find hadiths related to the time after Hijrah. I also tried to find verses related to the theme from Qur'an. I used a website which allowed me to search for verses in the translation of Qur'an. I read many websites that discussed the importance of Hijrah. I chose to enter a website into the competition. Since I knew a little about Weebly, it was easy for me to get started. I started by making a rough outline of the website on a piece of paper. I divided my research into several sections. At first, I put all my texts in each page. Then, I started to think a better way to present my information. For each section, I developed a page to present the my research. Getting the information onto the website was easy with Weebly's interactive web design tools. I also searched for images and videos in Google to make the site visually attractive.

After the Hijrah, when the people of Makkah migrated to Madinah without any of their belongings, the people who were in Madinah helped the newcomers by sharing their house, money, food etc. Madinah was a war torn city surrounded by hostile tribes. When the Muslims came, Prophet Mohammad established a document stating the rules that everybody in Madinah should abide by. The document is now known as Madinah Charter or Madinah Constitution, which defined rights and responsibilities of both groups. The constitution gave rights to the Muhajir, Ansar, Jews and other neighboring tribes. The Charter was essential to maintain peace. As a result of the peace and coherence, Madinah has become the center of all knew developments including knowledge, prosperity, social justice etc. Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) and his companions set many inspiring stories for the Muslims and rest of the world.
