for College and Graduate School Students


The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), the nation's second largest school district, Facilities Branch, New Construction is currently seeking college and graduate school students for Administrative Interns I and II to do technical administrative work for the department. The $27 billion LAUSD new school construction and modernization program is the largest school construction program in the nations history. Intern Positions An Administrative Intern I ($17.12 per hour) will perform entry-level technical administrative work under immediate supervision on a part-time basis while pursuing an undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Architectural, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Environmental Engineering. The Administrative Intern II ($19.71 per hour) will perform similar technical administrative work on a parttime basis while pursuing an advanced degree in a graduate program in Construction Management, Architectural, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Environmental Engineering. As part of this team you will join in one of the largest public works projects currently underway in the United States. You will have the opportunity to work with a team of top-level professionals whose mission will be to successfully orchestrate a program that will make a positive impact on our schools and our students. You will gain valuable experience in construction management and project management aspects by joining construction, planning & development, design management, real estate and project controls teams with in the Facilities Services Division. SPECIAL NOTE: If appointed to a position in either classification, continued employment is contingent upon continued studies. Interns will be assigned to work up to 16 hours a week during school semesters and may work up to 40 hours per week during the summer months when school is not in session. The Entrance Qualifications ADMINISTRATIVE INTERN I: Current enrollment of 12 semester units or equivalent quarter units at a recognized college or university. ADMINISTRATIVE INTERN II: Status as a graduate student and current enrollment in a Masters program at a recognized college or university. Special: A valid California Driver License and use of an automobile may be required for interns assigned to construction sites.
