Cherry Creek Arts Festival Public Relations Intern

Internship Description Blake Communications is seeking a public relations intern to assist in communication efforts leading up to, during and for a time following the 2014 Cherry Creek Arts Festival. This years Festival takes place July 4, 5 & 6, and the internship runs from May 1 through July 31. The time commitment will range from 10 to 20 hours per week with hours dramatically increasing in the month leading up to the Festival. The intern must be available to be on-site during all three days of the Festival and will work out of the Cherry Creek Arts Festival office throughout the course of the internship. The intern will be assisting Blake Communications, CCAFs public relations firm, in writing media releases, coordinating and scheduling media interviews, monitoring media coverage, social media updates, on-site media relations, assisting the on-site social media team, and writing summary reports, along with other relevant public relations tasks in promoting the Festival. This is a great opportunity for students seeking special events, media relations and social media experience. Intern Qualifications All applicants must meet the following qualifications. - Superb writing and editing skills. - A professional attitude and approach to all work and people. - A willingness to dive into the role and assist the Arts Festival team as needed, including some lifting and various physical tasks. - Knowledge of and experience with social media. - Creativity in delivering messages to audiences through non-traditional channels. - Pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in communications, public relations, marketing or some related degree. - Interest in special events, nonprofits, creative industries, media relations and social media. - Video production and photography skills are a plus. About the Cherry Creek Arts Festival The Cherry Creek Arts Festival is a three-day, world-class and award-winning celebration of the visual, culinary and performing arts and enjoys an annual attendance of 350,000 visitors. Special exhibits, art and culinary demonstrations, and interactive family activities on Artivity Avenue complement the festival experience. The 2013 event will take place on July 4, 5 and 6.
