Ref: 20140319 Bidyalakshmi Delhi Cycle Tour Peace messenger Miss Sougaijam Bidyalakshmi Leima (18), daughter of Sougaijam Iboton and Sougaijam Ongbi R.K. Wangoisana, of Jiribam, Manipur State had visited Delhi to carry out cycle rally on the themes End Violence Against Women; Stop Racism on Northeast People. She landed on Delhi on 6th March 2014 and left for Imphal on the early morning of 17th March, 2014. She was supported by Manipur Students Association Delhi in terms of providing accommodation, strategizing the course of programme and organising rally and interaction programmes. A sum of Rs 10,000 was transferred to MSAD by the well-wishers of Bidyalakshmi in order to bear the expenses of the course of her stay in Delhi. The following is the brief report of the activities that Bidyalakshmi had carried out in association with MSAD. Activity Record From 6 to 17 March 2014 March 06.2014: MSAD welcomed Bidyalakshmi at the Airport and organised and interaction cum dinner with some volunteers at Indra Vikas Colony. March 07.2014: Interaction programme with peace cyclist messenger Bidyalakshmi at the D.U Park, near V.C. Office, North campus. MSAD team along with Bidyalakshmi visited Under Graduate Women Hostel (Delhi University) and interacted with Manipuri inmates. March 08.2014: A team of MSAD along with Bidyalakshmi attended Northeast festival at the Zakir Hussian College and interacted northeast students. The same day a cycle rally was carried out from fGTB metro station to Zakir Hussain College via Buddhist Vihara (Tibetan Colony), Red Fort and Raj Ghat. March 08.2014: MSAD observed International Women day 2014 cum Interaction program with Bidyalakshmi at D.U park,North campus. A sum of Rs 1800 collected by women students was donated to Bidyalakshmi. March 09.2014: MSAD organised cycle Rally from Viswavidyalaya Metro station to J.N.U., via Gyara Murti, and Manipur Bhavan. At JNU an interaction programme was held with the members of Jawajarlal Nehru University Students Union and All India Students Association. March 10.2014: A team of MSAD with Bidyalakshmi had an interaction with editor of the left journal Revolutionary Democracy, two retired professors of Delhi University, and leader of Workers Unity Trade Union and volunteers of MSAD at Indra Vikas Colony. March 11.2014: A team of MSAD women volunteers organised interaction cum dinner at the Under Graduate Womens Hostel, Mukherjee Nagar. March 17, 2014: A team of MSAD see off Bidyalakshmi at the Airport.
