INTRODUCTION
Rhino Craft hulls are fabricated from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and are designed, developed and tested to create robust and virtually indestructible workboats for use with outboard motors as well as inboard diesels with stern drives or jet drives. Over the last 8 years the hulls have been proven in harsh offshore conditions impacting with solid and floating steel structures and have a customised forepeak structure for engaging in offshore bowcatcher boat landings. The craft generally employ 15mm thick HDPE pipe sponsons which act as heavy duty fenders for extreme offshore abuse. These sponsons are filled with polystyrene foam to render the craft virtually unsinkable. The craft incorporate bench seating with upstand gunnels, lifting padeyes, deck lashing padeyes, consoles and lockers. They are generally fitted with a bow step and hand rail compatible with conventional offshore structure bowcatchers. They are fitted with aluminium chain lockers, rubber D fenders, pontoon roping and scupper flaps for the selfdraining decks. For operational safety, the forepeak bowcatcher is designed as a separate structure that is welded to the basic hull. In extreme environmental conditions, severe impact loading causing potential damage to the bowcatcher will be superficial and will not compromise the integrity of the hull itself. The first Rhino Craft were built in 2003 for a client needing a relatively indestructible workboat for offshore bowcatchers. Despite the fact that Rhino Craft have almost a decade of proven reliability, we are continually evolving and improving to meet client needs. New designs are developed in co operation with our sister companies Wale Marine who have 25 years offshore experience and OIS Marine of the Oil Integrated Services Group who are well established marine operators in West Africa with inhouse naval architecture. On completion of an extreme offshore repair operation for PetroSA executed using a Rhino Craft the diving supervisor commented that any other workboat would not have lasted GRP would have been shattered, aluminium would have been ripped and conventional RIBs did not even warrant mention. Rhino Craft hulls require minimal maintenance and can be easily repaired or adapted by relatively unskilled staff. RHINO 590 EHD

The Rhino 590 EHD is a heavy duty workboat designed for offshore bowcatcher structures. The forepeak structure is a separate structure developed for extreme abuse without compromising the hull. The craft can be loaded into a standard 6meter container, and can be fitted with either single or twin outboard motors. Craft can be supplied bare, to receive a tiller operated motor, or fitted with a console and skippers seat arrangement. An inboard diesel motor can be fitted if required, but our longer versions are recommended for these applications. RHINO 590 GP

The Rhino 590 GP is a recently developed general purpose workboat which does not have sponsons, and lacks the same degree of robustness as the EHD, but is still well suited for standard marine operations and as a personnel transfer boat. As with the EHD, it can be loaded into a standard 6meter container and also has lifting points for use with a 3legged webbing sling. The standard craft is designed for use with a single outboard motor, but on request we can supply a modified transom version that is suited for twin outboards. We can supply the boat either bare, to receive a tiller operated motor, or fitted with a console and skippers seat arrangement as shown in the picture either uncovered, with a TTop cover or with a Bimini Top as shown. RHINO 690

The Rhino 690 has primarily been developed as a highspeed diesel workboat for use on offshore oil and gas installations where petrol engines are not permitted. It can also be used as a small Dive SRP boat or as a personnel transfer boat, and is suitable for certain military/navy applications. The crafts beam is selected such that it can be transported in a standard 12m container with side fenders removed. The standard drive is an inboard diesel engine (recommended power range is 150 to 350 HP) matched with an UltraJet waterjet drive. As an alternative it can be supplied with a stern drive system in place of waterjet drive. For non diesel applications the hull can be powered by single or twin outboard motors. With respect to canopies we can supply the craft with either T top, GRP canopy, fixed stainless steel portal & canvas, or Bimini Top arrangements. RHINO 800

The Rhino 800 is an optimised extension of the 690 (narrow beam) which has been developed in conjunction with our partners Oilfield Integrated Services (OIS) who are operators in West Africa. It is a powerful high speed craft designed for heavy offshore use that can be transported in a standard 12m container. It has an easily accessible and removable fuel tank for facilitating cleaning especially for use in areas where the quality of diesel is inferior. The diesel tank capacity is 230 litres. The standard drive is a Yanmar 315 HP inboard diesel engine coupled to a 251 UltraJet drive which is an extremely robust and reliable system. As with the 690 it can alternatively be supplied with a stern drive system in place of waterjet drive. For non diesel applications the hull can be powered single or twin outboard motors. The standard accessories are similar to the 690, but the 800 has triple rubber D fenders on forepeak and employs a solid HDPE defender protection strip on the sponson sides. RHINO 850 RANGE

The Rhino 850 is a broadbeam workboat that is well suited for use with either a single inboard diesel or with twin petrol outboards. Outboard models can be fitted into a standard 12m container whereas inboard models are normally transported on a 12m flatrack. The 850 is suitable as a diving SRP boat, a personnel transfer boat or even as a high speed military patrol boat. The recommended power range is between 200 and 600 HP. Standard accessories: 3legged webbing sling arrangement; Sponson seating with upstand gunnel; Forward chain locker; and Rubber D fenders on bow. RHINO 950 RANGE

The Rhino 950 is a large workboat that is ideally suited for use as a Dive SRP boat as well as a personnel transfer boat. It can be transported in a 12m flatrack. It can be powered by twin outboard motors with console arrangement or it can be supplied with inboard diesel motor matched with water jet drive or stern drive system. We can supply the craft with a console and GRP canopy or with stainless steel portal and canvas canopy arrangement. Minimum recommended drive power 280 hp. Standard Accessories: 4legged webbing sling arrangement for easy launch and recovery from offshore platforms or mother craft; Sponson seating with upstand gunnel; Forward chain locker; Rubber bow D fenders on forepeak; and Side mounted HDPE defender reinforcing strip. RHINO 1050

The Rhino 1050 is an extension of the 950 hull concept which has been initially developed for use as a Scuba Replacement (SRP) Diving boat in order to give extra deck space for SRP equipment. It is also a suitable hull for use with twin diesels and jets and as an offshore crew boat that is compatible with bow catcher boat landings. It can be transported on a 12m flatrack. Dimensions and weights: Length 10.5 m, Beam 2.75 m. Other criteria are dependent on the configuration and powering system.

SCUBA REPLACEMENT (SRP) BOATS

Though the 8.5 and even the 6.9 m Rhino Craft are suitable for use as SRP boats our main SRP design is based around the 9.5 metre hull with a jet drive as shown in the picture above. The boat is powered by a 295 HP Steyr diesel with an Ultra 305HT jet. Specs for the craft are as follows: GENERAL ACCESSORIES Built in 300L fuel tank. Stern deck for spare outboard and generator. 316 stainless steel accessories: forepeak step up handrail, stern railing, telescopic emergency stern ladder and removable and stowable side mounted dive ladder. GENERAL SALES TERMS


Our craft are generally quoted ex works Cape Town. Standard payment is 50% on order and 50% on completion. Our Rhino 590 range is usually available exstock. For larger craft the delivery time is about 8 weeks for boats with outboard motors and about 16 weeks for craft with inboard diesels.
