College of Education and Human Services Career Services 973-655-6874 (Fax) 973-655-7085 March 26, 2014 To Whom It May

Concern, I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Lisa Santacroce. I have had the pleasure of supervising her for the past two years in the Career Services Office for the College of Education and Human Services at Montclair State University. As my Graduate Assistant, Lisa has played a pivotal role in CEHS Career Services leading career workshops, advising students, making classroom presentations, as well as developing and implementing a series of workshops for students who are provisionally accepted into the Teacher Education Program. Lisas specialty is working with students individually and in small groups to critique resumes and addressing career questions. She has electronically critiqued hundreds of resumes and cover letters to assist students with the internship and job search process. She encourages students to visit her on an appointment or drop-in basis to assist with their career needs. Lisa has strong presentation skills. She leads workshops on Resume Writing and Interviewing Skills on a weekly basis. She developed and presented the Getting Ready for the Education Career Fair Workshop this spring to student teachers and recent graduates. She confidently represents our office at orientations and college events. As my Graduate Assistant, Lisa has been a key player in developing special programing for the Teacher Education Program. The Provisional Teacher Education Workshop is a series of five small group and individual meetings that Lisa helped develop and implement. 100% of the students participating in this program have successfully re-interviewed and been fully accepted into the Teacher Education Program. Lisa demonstrates a strong work ethic. She is hard-working, very organized, detailed oriented and flexible to accommodate student schedules and department needs. Her strong computer skills make it possible to complete projects quickly and efficiently. Her exceptional skills have made it possible to take on large initiatives for the College. For example, CEHS Career Services is responsible for collecting accurate employment information on our graduates. Lisa has been instrumental with collecting and analyzing data from the graduate and undergraduate employment surveys as well as the 3-5 year out survey for our Graduate Education Programs to establish the percentage of graduates that have jobs and where they are working. I highly recommend Lisa for a higher education position. Her diverse skillset, knowledge and experience along with her ability to work well with students, faculty and staff make her a perfect candidate for any student services position. She has tremendous potential and will be a valuable asset to your college/university. Please feel free to contact me at 973-655-6874 or flynnl@mail.montclair.edu if you have any questions. Sincerely,

Linda M. Flynn Director, CEHS Career Services
