Summary
How prevalent are GMO crops in the food supply? Glyphosate is now detected throughout the food chain and the environment Correlations between the increase in glyphosate use on crops and organ disease The data for corn and soy crops have also been plotted against % of U.S. population who suffer from various medical conditions Corn and soy data are plotted against the incidence and prevalence of diabetes and end stage renal disease (ESRD kidney failure) Correlations between increase in neurological diseases and the use of glyphosate Intestinal disease, immune disease and glyphosate
Industrial herbicides have been linked to bee population die offs in Europe
Roundup meets GMO, gets married, and starts to produce an unprecedented set of problems, at a scale never seen before
Plants and seeds that have been genetically engineered according to perform artificially well in a given set of circumstances
True long term consequences to antes food chain and environment are unknown
In male pigs, the difference was even more pronounced: a 400% increase
For the record, most autistic children are males, and nearly all of them have severe intestinal inflammation
The study was conducted on 168 young pigs on an authentic farm environment and was carried out over a 23-week period by eight researchers across Australia and the USA.
The lead researcher, Dr. Judy Carman, is from the Institute of Health and Environmental Research in Kensington Park, Australia. The study has now been published in the Journal of Organic Systems

"We can expect that the consumption of GM maize and the herbicide Roundup, impacts seriously on human health." - Dr Antoniou.
What does this picture tell you about the health benefits of this method of growing food
Glyphosate
According to USDA, glyphosate use increased 6,504% between 1991 to 2010 in the United States Glyphosate residues of up to 4.4mg/kg have been detected in stems, leaves and beans of glyphosate-resistant soy
Indicating metabolism of the herbicide
This means that Roundup ReadyTM plants are absorbing the herbicide and you cannot simply wash it off
USDA estimates that in 2012, 93% of all soy, 88% of corn and 94% of cotton grown in the US was genetically engineered
Reported concentrations of glyphosate in air and rain as high as 2.5 g/L in agricultural areas in Mississippi and Iowa

Correlations between the increase in glyphosate use on crops and organ disease
The data for corn and soy crops have also been plotted against % of U.S. population who suffer from various medical conditions
Corn and soy data are plotted against the incidence and prevalence (the number of people who have the disease) of diabetes and end stage renal disease (ESRD kidney failure)
Data sources

Correlation is not the same as causality There are multiple causes which could explain these outcomes That being stated, this should be investigated further as there are clear correlations between measurable health problems and incidence of the use of glyphosate products All of which should have been researched and publically documented before being rolled out at an industrial scale
