Letter from Head Coach Bob Hickey

Welcome to the 2012-2013 Wolfpack Basketball season. Although I have been on the coaching staff here since the 2006/2007 season I am anxious to begin my 1st season as the head coach at Great Oak High School. Before joining the Wolfpack I was the head coach at Silverado High School in Victorville, California and spent 4 years as a JV coach and co-head coach at Gladstone High School in Covina, California. The players and coaching staff have set lofty goals for the 2012-2013 campaign and we have put together a very competitive preseason schedule to prepare us for the always difficult Southwestern League. The players and coaches have worked very hard and have made the necessary sacrifices all summer and fall to have a successful season. Aswe move forward throughout the season we want our basketball program to mirror the vision Great Oak High School has adopted through SPIRIT. With focus on Scholarship, Passion, Integrity, Reflection, Involvement, and Teamwork we hope to develop our players on and off the court. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those that make our program run successfully. From Principal Keith Moore to Athletic Director Gil Rodriguez to all of the parents, sponsors, our Parent Support Group, and of course our coaches all of whom work tirelessly year round to offer our players a tremendous experience. Our athletic department believes in the Wolfpack experience which promotes quality and character of each student-athlete. The Great Oak coaching staff and teachers work diligently to offer the best experiences and opportunities for our young men both academically and athletically where they are challenged in competition and in the classroom. Our coaching staff s unwavering drive for excellence is unmatched and puts the Great in Great Oak athletics. In Great Oaks ninth year of existence and seventh year in the Southwestern league we enter the season with high expectations as we follow up last years campaign. I invite you to enjoy the Great Oak experience and hope you catch the S.P.I.R.I.T. that surrounds you on Friday night.
