Support Initiative 13-0025

Supporting California BM 13-0025 would control, legalize, and collect revenue from recreational marijuana and put it back into the economy. The initiative not only affects marijuana users but will also improve safety by reducing organized crime and free up public money spent on prosecution of marijuana crime while generating tax and tourist revenues.

Related factors:
Taxing recreational marijuana would help boost state economy. Tax revenues will go towards o Drug abuse education/treatment o Commission expenses o Law enforcement/fire o Public safety o Education o Regulation of commercial marijuana activities

Would relieve expenditures on the war on drugs, on maintenance of the prison system, and in the court for processing drug offenders. United States apprehends and incarcerates approximately 800,000 people yearly for nonviolent marijuana violations Will create zoning limits around schools regarding sales and advertisement Will decrease the high rate of racial discrimination when it comes to marijuana charges. Farmers in California will benefit with additional crop options
