P.E.

Funding
at Bowling Park Primary School
Here at Bowling Park, we like to Go the Extra Mile in every part of school life. We believe that children should get the best possible education and opportunities in all aspects of their learning, including P.E. and outdoor education. This helps to encourage a range of skills, so that children can become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens. P.E. and outdoor education is a vital part of this aim, helping children to succeed both in and out of the classroom. Because sports and physical education is so important, the Government now provide specific P.E. funding to develop sports provision in all schools. What is P.E. funding? From September 2013, the Government has provided each school with funding to improve the quality of physical education. The funding is for the academic year 2013-2014 and 2014-2015. From September 2013 to March 2014, we received 6609 and from April 2014 to August 2014, we will be given 4096 (a total of 10,705 for the academic year 2013-2014) to help improve P.E. This money is being spent on a variety of activities and initiatives to encourage and develop outdoor and sports skills. Next year, many of these initiatives will continue and grow as our funding continues. We have also topped up the P.E. funding with extra money from our budget to make sure our children get the best possible provision. What do we spend our funding on?
