: MCA :SRI DEVAJIT HAZARIKA :521110653 : : : HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM : It is proposed to develop a system

on the patient registration and records management of the AG NURSHING HOME with Microsoft My SQL Server as back-end-tool and Visual Basic 10 as front-end-tool. OBJECTIVES :The main objectives of the proposed system are to overcome drawbacks of the existing system. The other objectives include providing an information source, increasing efficiency and build greater user satisfaction and eliminatory duplication of work. Quickly recreation of the requirement information and improvement of various operational controls so as to rears satisfactory services minimize inaccuracy and inconsistency in data processing are also important objectives of this proposed system.

The proposed system is a computerized system which will alleviate the problem faced by the existing no computerized system. The new system will enhance the speed of the register and maintaining the records for future reference in the form of reports. The new system will also provide an error free and quick method for calculating details of patients under treatment along with their all the daily reports and the various medicines prescribed to them. No tedious working will be required to keep details of records and patient history. Office staff will no longer spend long hours to prepare reports about all these. This will be available in form of reports and automatically data will be available in form of reports and automatically data will be stored in the database. Automatic calculation of Bills and Reports will save time as well as there will not be any chances of errors. The system also calls for lesser manpower and even lesser workload. Accurate and reliable query information processing are also highlighted in the new system. One of the main advantages is the searching process with the help of which a few years old data regarding a patient can be obtained.

Although this system has been developed by collecting information from only one hospital, it can be made globally acceptable by certain modifications which of course need complete help of the developers. Presently we are going to develop the software for registration of the patients in the three shifts: outdoor, indoor and registration. The descriptions of the phases are given below: In case of OPD patients, no records are available about outdoor patients but in future we are opting to store the same. If any complain from the patient came or if the patient came for revisit after quite a long days also, hospital management through a query can retrieve the details quickly from the database with all his personal details and medical details. They will have to no longer keep all these manually. The IPD patients need continuous observation of doctors and sisters which is not possible only in a single visit. The doctors have to collect various information for the patients such as about medicines, pathological tests, pulse, a temperature etc timely. If such important records are stored in computerized system, there will not be any chances of losing the data also the reports will be an available to the doctors when they need.

This section is dealing with only the various records and data coming from various departments, wards, and cottages. The in charge of this section has to maintain and handles the records quite carefully. Loss of a single data may cause a huge problem for the patients. So, secure and error free as well as simple processes are required here. Our project covers this section which will help them to store, retrieve, and search data.
