Notice of Race 1 Organising authority and venue 1.1 The organising authority is the University of NSW (UNSW) Windsurfing and Sailing Club & the Australian National University Sailing Club (ANUSC) (host). 1.2 The venue of the regatta is the waters of Lake Burley Griffin, Canberra 2 Rules 2.1 The regatta will be governed by: The rules defined by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2013-16, The Notice of Race (NOR) and Sailing Instructions (SIs) 2.2 All crew members shall wear , whilst afloat , a personal floatation device (PFD) 2.3 All competitors will abide by the directions and instructions given by host club ANUSC 3 Eligibility and Entry 3.1 The regatta is open to all university attendees and alumni and open to all classes of boats including dinghies, skiffs and sailboards. 3.2 Eligible boats may enter on the website. Entries must be lodged with the organising authority by 30 April 2014, at 1800 hrs, accompanied by the required fee of $40 per boat. 3.3 Payment details: EFT Details: BSB - 062 903 Acc # - 10044760 Name: ANU Sailing Club Put your name in the remittance part 3.4 Late fee of $15 shall apply after the close of entries. 4 Insurance 4.1 All boats must carry third party insurance cover. For clarification about insurance policies please contact the event organisers or see item 14.1 in this NOR. 5 Schedule of Events 5.1 Friday 2nd May Arrival ANU 18:00 onwards King OMalleys - Irish Pub 22:00 Saturday 3rd May Breakfast

Registration 1000 -1200 hrs ANU Briefing & BBQ 1200 hrs Racing 1330 hrs BBQ as soon as practicable after racing and Boat Race to follow (Dress Code :Pirate or Sailor , please see separate NOR for Boat Race for rules) Sunday 4th May Hangover BBQ (TBA) Racing 1300 hrs Prize Giving & BBQ as soon as practicable after racing 6 Measurements 6.1 It is the responsibility of the boats skipper to ensure that each boat and crew complies with its relevant class rules. 7 Sailing Instructions 7.1 The Sailing instructions (SIs) will be available during registration and at the briefing at the ANUSC. 8 Racing area 8.1 The racing area shall be on the waters of Lake Burley Griffin , Canberra. 9 Courses 9.1 The courses will be described in the sailing instructions and issued at the race briefing. 10 Scoring 10.1 The low point scoring system, Appendix A4 will apply. 10.2 An overall team championship trophy will be also determined & awarded. 11 Handicaps and divisions 11.1 A boats handicap will be determined by the VYC yard stick system for the purpose of scoring. 11.2 Divisions will be formed appropriately dependent on entries received. A minimum of five boats in one class is required to have a separate start. 12 Prizes 12.1 Prizes will be awarded at the discretion of the organizing committee and in accordance with the final results provided by the race committee. 13 Disclaimer of Liability 13.1 It is the Competitors decision to enter the event or to start and continue in any race or social activity. Competitors shall accept that their participation in the event is at their exclusive risk in every respect. By way of entry in the Event competitors must indemnify the Organising Authority , Host Club , their officers and other organizers in respect to all claims and demands of whatever nature which may be made upon them in connection with or howsoever arising from their participation or intended participation in the Event.
