7 ("erational *haracteristics and @nown -ssues

)efect numbers are included for !nown issues >not o"erational characteristics?.

1. 5hen tunneled clients are used in conAunction with "eer switches, one of the "eer switches must be confi ured as a default ateway for the tunneled clients. Normally the default ateway routes all traffic from the client8s subnet to other subnets, howe#er in a "eer switch networ! the wireless switch that mana es the $, to which the client is associated routes the frames into the remote subnets. This means that each "eer switch must ha#e routin table entries that enable it to route frames to e#ery subnet in the networ!. 2. Tunnelin is not e<"ected to wor! with "ort4based routin interfaces. $ll tunneled routin interfaces must be 2.$N routin interfaces. $,s should not be attached to the switch #ia "ort4based routin interfaces as well. 3. ,ort4based routin interfaces should not be used for connections to $,s, as you can8t set the 2.$N id, so .2 disco#ery will not wor!. 7. 5hen 2$, interfaces are added or remo#ed from the mana ement 2.$N, the $, may re4initialiBe its mana ement lin! with the wireless switch. C. 5hen the country code is chan ed on the wireless switch, it is recommended that the user reset the switch after sa#in the confi uration. Failure to reset the switch may result in inconsistent o"eration. D. .ayer 2 disco#ery may ta!e lon er when usin multi"le wireless switches than other disco#ery mechanisms. E. @ey forwardin >,roacti#e @ey *achin ? is su""orted on a "er client basis and as this is a new e<tension a number of clients do not su""ort fast !ey forwardin . ,lease refer to your client manufacturer for more information. &. -n the "resence of hi h amounts of traffic a mana ed $, may lose mana ement connecti#ity and a standalone $, may become unres"onsi#e.

% 200& 'roadcom *or"oration. $ll Ri hts Reser#ed. *om"any *onfidential.

9. Fsin T@-,GR*7 encry"tion with 5,$2 results in rou hly 30H lower throu h"ut than usin $1S encry"tion due to a hardware limitation. 10. -n a wireless system that could ha#e u" to 7 "eer switches, a wired station can be connected to only one "ort on a tunneled subnet either directly or indirectly. 11. -f the "eer switches are directly connected o#er an -, lin!, the -, subnet used for the "eer switch lin! must be different from any tunnelin subnets. 12. 5hen a browser sends multi"le re9uests to et the resources li!e *SS, IS or ima es the 0TT, ser#er on the $, treats them as se"arate re9uests. So it mi ht result in two "o"u" windows for the new credentials based on browser beha#ior as!in for credentials. 13. The hardware encry"tion for 51, is used only when a sin le 'SS-) is acti#e on the radio. $ second 2$, "recludes the use of hardware encry"tion causin low throu h"ut. 17. *hannel 17 is not su""orted for &02.11 band for Ia"an country code. 1C. The radio dri#er andGor hardware su""orts 12E "airwise !eys and hence it can su""ort u" to 12E clients with 5,$G5,$2 security. 1D. For the wireless switch, when "ower is remo#ed and restored after a #ery short time >around 142 seconds, "ossibly less?, sometimes the switch "orts show lin! down #ia .1), web, and *.- but the remote "orts show lin! u". This can be remedied by remo#in "ower for more than C seconds but not by a soft reset. 1E. The $,s su""ort manual antenna selection on a "er radio basis. $utomatic antenna selection is not su""orted. 1&. J&3&99 +ore than 1027 characters cannot be added to the $F, for *, 5eb *ustomiBation 19. JE207E TurboGsu"er/ mode does not increase traffic rate si nificantly for )5.43C00$,. 4 This has not been disabled for the )5.43C00$,. The )5.43C00$, will not i nore this settin . 20. JE1907 -f a "in flood attac! is directed throu h a tunneled subnet at a "eer switch, disablin and re4enablin routin feature may reset the switch.

21. JC303E *han in the "hysical +TF siBe on an interface may cause the switch to re4initialiBe its lin!s with the "eer switch and mana ed $,s. 22. JC37C0 'oth +ana ed K Ro ue $,s chan e their color to rey after some time in the Networ! 2isualiBation com"onent. 23. J7CC92 The wron status code is used in denyin $ssociation Re9uest. 27. J7C973 The web "a es for radio and 2$, are slow to load. 2C. J7E932 5,$2 clients are unable to connect with an $, enabled for both 5,$4,S@ and 5,$24,S@. 2D. J91E22 -f the ,o1 cable is suddenly remo#ed from an $,, the associated clients fail o#er to other $,s after D "in losses. The roamin functionality wor!s "ro"erly if the $, is rebooted or the radio is turned down. 2E. J91&D3 -f a ca"ti#e "ortal instance is associated with a disabled 2$,, re4 enablin the 2$, does not automatically enable the ca"ti#e "ortal instance.
