N-GEN-NY
Transformation in todays electrical system Next generation of energy will see a series of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) These DERs will be owned and operated by independent (non-utility) entities The drivers for these changes are two-fold:
Policy Drivers
Political targets and mandates Financial incentives Technology cost reductions New enabling technologies Service innovations
Technology Drivers
N-GEN Transformation
This transformation will see the change from large, central station power plants with one way energy transmission to DERs with two way transmission. DERs owned and operated by communities

Utilizing natural gas components such as CHP and Generators for the base load/peaks, and Renewables such as Solar for peak demand shaving.
A smart meter deployment at the four locations shown on their maps. This gives us the exact energy utilization and the exact times of peak demand charges (if possible). A rooftop solar implementation at the County Office Building and the County Court Complex under 200kw. A small Smart Grid software solution for the two buildings (if possible). A twelve month analytical study of their consumption with recommendations for Phase two.
