The Five Jambhala Wealth Gods By John W Sheridan The Tibetan legend that describes the origin of the

Jambhala Wealth Gods is very interesting. It is said that a revered high Lama, Lama Atisha, as al!ing alone hen he fo"nd a man starving and near death. After loo!ing aro"nd and "nable to find food for the old man Lama Atisha c"t flesh from his o n body and offered it to the starving man. The man ref"sed to eat the Lama#s flesh.

Being de$ressed and not !no ing ho else to hel$ the man nearing death the Lama sat do n ne%t to him. At that $oint there as a blinding bright hite light and before Atisha a$$eared the B"ddha of &om$assion, the Tho"sand'Armed Avalo!itesh or &henre(ig. The B"ddha told Lama Atisha that he as going to manifest himself as the God of Wealth, Jambhala, and ass"re that those in $overty o"ld s"ffer no longer.

)ther legends have also been $"blished on the origin of the Five Jambhala Wealth Gods b"t the one *"st given is the one most +"oted. The five Jambhala ,also !no n by the name -(ambhala. are all very $o$"lar ealth Gods and each has their o n "ni+"eness.

The White Jambhala is said to be the manifestation of Avalo!itesvara Bodhisattva ,he ho listens to the so"nds aro"nd him and embodies com$assion.. /e sits on a sno lion and holds a mongoose in his left hand that s$its o"t $recio"s gems for the $oor and needy to collect. /e is said to be able to sto$ s"ffering and to dis$el bad 0arma. &hanting his 1antra can also bring ealth, avert disaster, and give yo" good health.

The White Jambhala is most effective for those ith a &hinese Astrological l"c!y element of metal and animal sign of a mon!ey or chic!en. It is believed $o"ring ater on the head of his stat"e ill allo for greater blessings. The 1antra that is chanted for this God is 2)m 3adma Trotha Arya 4ambhala Siddhaya /"m 3hat2.

The 5ello Jambhala is considered the most $o$"lar and $o erf"l of the Wealth Gods. It is tho"ght to be the manifestation of B"ddha 6atnasambhava, the B"ddha of Giving. It is said yo" m"st $ractice B"ddhism "sing correct $roced"res to gain the most $o erf"l blessings from him. /e is "s"ally sho n sitting on a lot"s, s"n and moon dis!. As ith all of the Jambhala, he holds a mongoose in his left hand hich $rod"ces *e els to give to

the needy.

The 5ello Jambhala is tho"ght to be the most effective for those ith a &hinese Astrological l"c!y element of earth and having the animal sign of a co , dragon, shee$, or dog. J"st as ith the White Jambhala, $o"ring ater on the head of his stat"e is considered good for increasing the blessing yo" receive. 5o" ill receive not only ealth b"t isdom and intelligence if orshi$$ed $ro$erly. The 1antra yo" o"ld recite is 2)m 4ambala 4alendhraye Soha2.

The Blac! Jambhala is also !no n as the /ind" God of Wealth, 0"bera. /e ill f"lfill yo"r ishes, ma!e yo" ha$$y, and give yo" ealth and $ros$erity if orshi$ed $ro$erly. /e is "s"ally seen standing on a cor$se and ith a 0a$ala ,a c"$ made from a h"man s!"ll. in his right hand along ith the mongoose in his left hand. /e is also "s"ally $ict"red s"rro"nded by a ring of fire. /e is blac! in color, as his name o"ld indicate.

The Blac! Jambhala is considered most effective for those that have a &hinese Astrological l"c!y element of ater and animal sign of a $ig or rat. If yo" have a stat"e of him yo" $o"r ater on his belly, not his head, for added blessings. /e has t o different 1antras, 2)m 4ambhala -(amlim -(aye Svaha2 and 2)m Ind(ali 1" 0an -(amali Svaha2.

The 6ed Jambhala is said to be the manifestation of 7a*rasattva, the B"ddha of 3"rification. Some say that he is the /ind" God of Wealth, Lord Ganesh, and has the head of an ele$hant. )thers $ict"re him as having t o faces and fo"r arms. /e also carries the mongoose in one of his left hands. /is Tibetan name is said to be -(ambhala 1a$o. So there seems to be +"ite a difference in ho this God is defined.

For the greatest benefits achieved from orshi$ing him yo"r &hinese Astrological l"c!y element sho"ld be fire and have an animal sign of a sna!e or horse. While chanting the 1antra yo" sho"ld also $o"r ater on the stat"e. The 1antra for him is 2)m -(ambhala -(alim -(aya 8ama 1"mei 9 She 9, )m -(achini -(ambhala -(ambhala Svaha2.

The last of the five Wealth Gods, the Green Jambhala, is tho"ght to be a form of the B"ddha A!shobhya , ho reigns over the eastern $aradise.. /e is "s"ally sho n in tight

embrace ith his consort and carrying a *e el $rod"cing mongoose in his left hand. /e is act"ally bl"e in color. The Green Jambhala made a sacred vo itnessed by B"ddha Sa!yam"ni that he o"ld $rotect anyone ho chanted his 1antra.

Those ho o"ld benefit the most from him are those ith the &hinese Astrological l"c!y element of ood and animal sign of a tiger or rabbit. Again the sim"ltaneo"s $o"ring of ater hile chanting his 1antra is recommended. /is 1antra is 2)m 4ambala 4alendhraye Soha.2

I ho$e by reading this yo" can see hy the Five Jambhala Wealth Gods are among my favorites. Their origins and "ni+"eness are fascinating and they are considered to be e%ce$tionally $o erf"l Wealth Gods.

I ish yo" all $ros$erity and ab"ndance. :ntil later, $lease en*oy Sheng &hi; The Water 6it"al of the White -(ambhala...A 3o erf"l 3ractice For Wealth

D The 1antra 3ractice Begin by generating good motivation...then start reciting the mantra of White -(ambhalaE

As yo" recite start offering ater on the head of -(ambhala slo ly b"t steadily and it sho"ld be a fine stream of ater. As yo" $o"r the ater ith yo"r right hand, sna$ the fingers of yo"r left hand in front of yo"r heart and recite the mantra a minim"m of seven times, $referably <FD times. If yo" have a

rosary of <FD mala beads "se this and ma!e it yo"r designated mala for doing this $ractice. At times hen yo" are in a r"sh yo" can recite =< or =D times. The 7is"ali(ations As yo" recite the -(ambhala mantra and $o"r the ater on his head, thin! that from the mo"th of the -ragon and from the mo"th of -(ambhala#s mongoose come an "nceasing flo of ish'f"lfilling *e els and dollar notes, millions and millions of dollar notes. The ater "sed for the rit"al can be "sed to ma!e tea or to $o"r over $lants or into yo"r fish tan!s or ater feat"res. 5o" can also $lace a White -(ambhala image "nder the falling ater in a nine'level aterfall and $lace this in the north, east or so"theast of yo"r living room and !ee$ the ater flo ing thro"gh the day. 5o" can t"rn off the aterfall in the night.
