Imaging
Description: Demonstrate good photography and image editing
skills. Incorporating color into a poster layout with original photos. Program: Adobe Photoshop Date Completed: February 7th, 2014 Course: Digital Media, Cory Kerr Objectives: Learn how to use Photoshop, developing quality designs and images. Process: I rst decided on a color scheme. I chose analogous. I then borrowed a Cannon camera from the campus library. I wanted to have clear picture with great lighting and high quality so I went up by the Rexburg temple at sunrise for optimal lighting. I then wanted to nd something with great color potential and that showed life in winter. I found a plant with a tint of red in it with great potential that I decided to photograph. I then opened the picture in photoshop I then edited the levels, vibrancy, selective colors, and sharpness. The selective colors is what allowed me to make my picture truly become what I intended. I was able to change the blues, reds, magentas, and cyans of the image to come up with the intended result above. adding int eh quote by John Steinbeck and my color pallet came next. I used the ellipse tool to create my circles and for the gradient on the bottom I lled the background with violet and then took the eraser tool to, hardness at zero and then erased the bottom of my image and along the indigo rectangle to the side of my image.

Brochure
Description: Tri-Fold brochure, double sided Program: Adobe Illustraitor (logo) and InDesign Date Completed: March 29th, 2014 Course: Visual Media, Cory Kerr Objectives: Set up and design a double-sided document. Print with
proper alignment, proper folds/cuts, and quality images. Process: I rst put an outline of my design on paper and folded it accordingly so that I could look back on it and not get confused while working in InDesign. I opened a new InDesign document and set my margins to .25 I then used the Rectangle Tool to create my layout and its different sections.. I measured the edges of my fold and removed the parts needed to create my slanted edges. I used an elaborate color scheme to create unity throughout my design, I wanted the colors to be uniform but to not use the same two colors throughout the design, so I have 4 and to unite all of my images. Next I clipped out the background of the ampersand image in Photoshop using the quick selection tool. Then cropped and placed it into my brochure. I then used text wrap with a .25 margin and alpha channel around the image.
