Logos
Description: Date:
2/22/2014 This is my collection of logos that I designed. They are for a made-up cookie company called Hot Cookie.

Course/Instructor:
Comm 130 Section 08 Julie Peterson

Program(s)/Tools:
Adobe Illustrator

Objectives: Process:

Create three new logos to fit a company or personal image. Use the basic tools of Illustrator. I liked creating these logos. I did this in Illustrator. The first thing I did was create the flame shape that is repeated throughout the piece. I did this by tracing a flame with the pen tool. For the first logo I put the flames on top of the letters and used the direct select tool to vary them. For the second logo I made a cookie with the circle tool, and the direct select tool. I added little chocolate chips to make a chocolate chip cookie. I replaced the os with the cookies and I filled the o in hot and the c and e in cookie with red. For the third logo I took the flame element and the cookie element and I combined them to make a flaming cookie.

Program(s)/Tools:
Adobe InDesign

Objectives: Process:

I made this brochure in InDesign. I created three circles on each page and cut them to fit each other to make a fold. Next I created a bite mark with the pen tool. After that I imported four different pictures of cookies and put them inside the circle shapes. I made the cover black, put an outline around it and placed my log. On the backside of the front I put my message with the photo I cut out in
photoshop. I used the direct select tool to select the boy away from the background. After I placed him in the document I used the text wrap tool to wrap the text around him. Last I created an opaque white box on all of the cookies for the text. I placed my description of each of the cookies and I was done.

Comm 130 Section 08 Julie Peterson

Program(s)/Tools:
Microsoft Word

Objectives: Process:
I used Microsoft Word on a PC. First I scanned an image of a lighthouse and then pasted it onto the document. I sized it to take up the whole top of the poster. Then I made the bottom blue to match the ocean. I put the title at the top and the time and date in a circle shape. I tapered the title to match the outline of the lighthouse. I put a red line in between the bottom half of the document and the image to created flow. I put and image of zig-zags on the bottom and put a transparent blue box on top so the words could show up better. My final decision was to add the dashes around the blue circle with the date.
