I. WARNING
IMPORTANT: To avoid electrical shock when working on control board (PCB Assy), unplug slicer and wait 5 minutes for the high voltage capacitor to discharge.

1. The X13 slicers are designed for slicing the following types of food products:

3. ERROR CODES
A) Error Codes are designated by the number of flashes. To reset, push the stop button. The codes are as follows: No. of Flashes 1 2

VI. ADJUSTMENTS
1) GAUGE PLATE
A) GAP (i) Pull Rubber Boot away from Adjustment Block (Fig. 1A). (ii) Loosen Bolts (Fig. 1B) and slide Gauge Plate (Fig. 1E) towards or away from Knife. (iii) Lock in place by tightening Bolts (Fig. 1B). (iv) Silicone Rubber Boot back in place. B) PARALLEL TO KNIFE (i) Move Rubber Boot away from Adjustment Block. (ii) Loosen top/bottom Set Screws (Fig. 1C) on Adjustment Block (Fig 1A). (iii) Loosen Center Bolt (Fig. 1D) on Adjustment Block and adjust Gauge Plate (Fig. 1E) by moving its lower edge up or down. (iv) Lock in place by tightening Center Bolt (Fig. 1D), and tightening two Set Screws (Fig. 1C). (v) Silicone Rubber Boot back in place.

C) HEIGHT (i) Overlap Knife by 1/32 (thickness of a dime) above the Gauge Plate when closed. (ii) To adjust, close Index Knob. (iii) Remove Cap from end of Index Knob and loosen Nut inside the Knob (1 turns). (iv) Hold Index Knob at 0, adjust the Gauge Plate by using a 6mm Allen Wrench to turn the Index Cam up or down to achieve overlap. (v) Hold Index Knob and tighten nut. (vi) Replace cap.

2) PRODUCT TABLE
A) ANGLE TO KNIFE (i) Roller (Fig. 2A) rides on top and Nylon Screw (Fig. 2C) slides on bottom of Square Rail. (ii) Roller is mounted to Block (Fig. 2A) on Carriage. Loosen Bolt (Fig. 2B) which holds Block to Carriage. (iii) Adjust Screw (Fig. 2C) until Product Table is at a right angle to Gauge Plate and secure Bolt (Fig. 2B). (iv) Apply Loctite 2440 to Nylon Screw (Fig. 2D) and adjust until it makes contact with Square Rail. (v) Stand Slicer up and ensure Carriage moves freely. (vi) If sticky, loosen Nylon Screw. (vii) If sloppy, tighten Nylon Screw. Fig. 2

3) INTERLOCK CABLES / SUPPORT ARM


A) With Product Table installed, Slide Bar (Fig. 3A) will be centered in Carriage Hole (Fig. 4H). B) On X13A units - Index Guide Bar (Fig. 3A) must activate a switch on the Slide Bar Guide (Fig. 3D) when the table is installed. C) Remove Pin (Fig. 3C) from Clevis and turn Clevis (Fig. 3B) in or out and replace Pin to reconnect with Index Guide Bar (Fig. 3A).

4) INTERLOCK CABLES / PRODUCT TABLE


A) If the Product Table will not come off you will need to complete one of the following steps. (i) Tip Slicer on back and remove Pin on Clevis (Fig. 4E). Collapse Spring (Fig. 4J) by pushing on Clevis and walk Product Table off the Slicer. (ii) If you can not collapse Spring (Fig 4J), remove metal strap holding Cable (Fig. 4I) to collapse Spring. Repeat Step Ai. (iii) Place Slicer on all 4 feet and pry Product Table off. B) Remove Black Plugs and Screws that secure Top Plate Assy to the Arm. C) Reassemble with new Top Plate Assembly (See Top View). D) With Product Table off, check Table Adjusting Screws and verify how many threads are showing. Set depth with one thread showing on top and three on the bottom. E) Replace Table and measure gap between Product Table and Gauge Plate. The correct gap should be 1/8. If not, remove table and tighten or loosen Table Adjusting Screws accordingly. F) Repeat Step E until 1/8 gap is achieved and Table comes on/off easily. Fig. 3

5) INTERLOCK CABLES / INDEX KNOB


A) CABLE INTO INDEX KNOB: (i) Disconnect Pin (Fig. 3C) from Interlock Guide Rod (Fig. 3A). (ii) Remove Index Knob (19mm socket). (iii) Push Cable (Fig. 3B) until it stops (do not twist Clevis). (iv) Hold Cable (Fig. 3B), replace Index Knob and make sure end of Cable goes into Index Knob hole within spiral groove. (v) Replace Index Knob and tighten nut (19mm socket). B) RECONNECTING CABLE TO INDEX GUIDE ROD: (i) Keep Clevis (Fig. 3B) disconnected from Index Guide Rod (Fig. 3A). (ii) Reinstall Table. (iii) Pull Clevis (Fig. 3B) to retract Cable from Index Knob until Index Knob turns freely. (iv) Compare hole alignment in Clevis & Index Guide Rod (Fig. 3A). (v) Turn Clevis (Fig. 3B) in/out until hole aligns with hole in the Index Guide Rod (Fig. 3A) (vi) Once holes are aligned, turn Clevis clockwise 1 full revolution. (vii) Replace Clevis Pin (Fig. 3C).

VII. REPLACEMENT PARTS


1) KNIFE BEARING
A) Remove Knife (19mm wrench). B) Remove Knife Motor - see Knife Motor below. (i) On X13A & X13AE remove Auto section. C) Remove 4 Bolts (Fig. 5A) and push Spindle (Fig. 5B) into housing while pulling on Pulley (Fig. 5C). D) Reassemble in reverse order. (i) Use oil on O-Ring (Fig. 5D) prior to tightening Bolts (Fig. 5A). E) Replace Knife Motor (Section 5 below).

2) KNIFE GUARD
A) B) C) D) Remove Knife (19mm wrench). Remove the top mounting bolt from the Knife Guard. Remove the Knife Motor see Knife Motor below. Remove bottom two mounting bolts. Reassemble in reverse order. Fig. 6

3) KNIFE BELT

A) Remove Knife Motor. B) Place Knife Belt (Fig. 6A) on Motor Shaft (Fig. 6C) prior to reinstalling Knife Motor. C) Once Knife Motor is installed, pull Knife Belt (Fig. 6A) tight to Motor Shaft (Fig. 6C). D) Walk Knife Belt (Fig. 6A) onto Knife Pulley (Fig. 6B). E) Hold Knife Belt with left hand and rotate Knife Pulley (Fig. 6D) with Knife or 24mm socket. F) Once installed check location of Knife Belt (Fig. 6A) on Knife Pulley (Fig. 6B): (i) Ensure Knife Belt (Fig. 6A) is completely on Knife Pulley (Fig. 6B). (ii) Ensure Knife Belt (Fig. 6A) is on Motor Shaft (Fig. 6C) grooves. (iii) Knife Belt (Fig. 6A) will be approximately from edge of Knife Pulley (Fig. 6B). Belt will wear out prematurely if not replaced properly.

4) KNIFE MOTOR
A) B) C) D) Unplug Motor wires from Control Board (see wiring diagram). Walk Belt (Fig. 7A) off Knife Pulley (Fig. 7B) Remove Screws (Fig. 7A) holding Motor Bracket (Fig. 7B). Remove Motor (Fig. 7C) from Bracket (Fig. 7B) and put Bracket on replacement Motor. Looking from Motor Shaft side, ensure Bracket Tab (Fig. 7D) is at 12 oclock and Capacitor (Fig. 7E) at 10 oclock. Reconnect new Motor to Control Board. Place Belt on Motor Shaft and install Motor Assy into Housing. Run Interlock Cable under Capacitor (Fig. 7E) for easiest installation. Secure Motor with the Screws (Fig. 7A). Proceed to next section to replace Knife Belt.

5) SHARPENER
A) SHARPENING STONE (i) To remove use 10mm wrench and 3mm Allen wrench. Nut is Left Hand thread. B) SHARPENING SHAFT (Fig. 8A) (i) To remove push against Sharpening Stone end and remove E Clip (Fig. 8C). C) DEBURRING STONE (i) To remove use 10mm wrench and 3mm Allen wrench. Nut is Left Hand thread. (ii) If side of Deburring Stone hits Knife place Shim (0.5mm 3275-00238, 1.0mm 327500237) under Deburring Stone. Use thinnest Shim possible to ensure proper sharpening. D) DEBURRING FRAME (Fig. 8L) (i) To remove push Deburring Frame (Fig. 8L) against Spring (Fig. 8K) and remove E Clip (Fig. 8M). (ii) Remove the shaft while holding Spring (Fig. 8K). (iii) Before reassembling Deburring Frame into Sharpener Frame, ensure Stone Shaft (Fig. 8D) is installed with Deburring Frame (Fig. 8L) (iv) Set Spring (Fig. 8K) in place and push the Shaft (Fig. 8H) through the spring and both mounting holes in the Sharpener Frame. (v) Use needle nose pliers to compress Spring (Fig. 8K) and Shaft (Fig. 8H) by towards back of Sharpener Frame. (vi) Insert Deburring Frame (Fig. 8L) over end of Shaft (Fig. 8H) while placing Tab (Fig. 8N) under Lip (Fig. 8O) on Sharpener Frame. (vii) Release Spring (Fig. 8K) and Shaft (Fig. 8H) and push Shaft (Fig. 8H) through Deburring Frame and hole in Sharpener Frame. (viii) Push the Deburring Frame (Fig. 8L) against the Spring (Fig. 8K) while moving the Shaft (Fig. 8H) to expose the groove on Shaft (Fig. 8H) and install E Clip (Fig. 8M) Fig. 8

6) INDEX/CONTROL IMPORTANT: To avoid electrical shock when working on control board (PCB Assy), unplug slicer and wait 5 minutes for the high voltage capacitor to discharge.
A) B) C) D) E) F) G) H) Remove Knife (19mm wrench). Remove Gauge Plate by removing Mounting Bolt (Fig. 9D). Disconnect Clevis (Fig. 12B) from Interlock Rod (Fig. 12A). Unplug Upper PCB Wire Harness from Control Board. Remove Knife Motor see Knife Motor. Remove five Mounting Bolts holding Upper Housing to Slicer Base. Remove 6 Screws (Fig. 11) holding Upper Housing Assembly together and separate halves. Remove Index Assembly (Fig. 14). (i) Spring Washer (Fig. 10B) may or may not have been used. (ii) Index Cam (Fig. 10C) is held into Support Arm (Fig. 10D) by a press fit Pin (Fig. 10E). (iii) If Index Cam has to be removed screw 4mm Bolt into the end of Pin (Fig. 10E) and pull out. (iv) Remove one Sleeve Bushing (Fig 10F) if Index Cam (Fig. 10C) must be remove from Support Arm (Fig. 10D). I) Reassemble in reverse order.

7) AUTO SECTION X13A & X13AE Models Only


A) Remove Wire Ribbon Cable (Fig. 13A) between Automatic Assembly and Carriage (Fig. 14). B) Remove six Mounting Screws (Fig. 13B,C, D) securing Auto Assy to Base. C) When replacing belts use hand pressure only to tighten. D) The motor belt is tightened by rotating motor then tightening the motor mounting screws (Fig. 13E). Pulling on Idler Pulley (Fig. 13F) tighten Mounting Screws which tightens Carriage Belt. E) Carriage Knob (Fig.14A) locks Auto Clip (Fig. 14B) onto Drive Belt. Circuit Board (Fig. 14C) has three Hall Effect switches which are activated by magnet on Auto Clip (Fig. 14B).
