    Raishad Hardnett is a lover of news, reporting and multimedia storytelling. As an award-winning multi-platform journalist who will graduate from the University of Southern California in May, he has reported, produced, and anchored extensively for Annenberg TV News (ATVN). There, he shoots, writes, and edits his own packages as a "one man band" under tight same-day deadlines; produces the rundown while directing a team of 40 journalists to complete a live 30-minute newscast; and delivers immediate, breaking news live on air as an anchor. In Spring 2014, he won two Mark of Excellence awards for Best TV General Reporting from the Society of Professional Journalists. He was also one of only two USC students whose packages were nominated for the Hearst Journalism Competition on behalf of USC. Recently, he was selected as one of only 12 student journalists nationwide to be selected for the competitive CBC-UNC Fellowship at WRAL.

    Shoot, write and edit packages under tight day-of-air deadlines as one-man-band reporter. Write web-optimized article to accompany each package. Tweet developing stories regularly in the field. Heavily relied on to shoot b-roll, conduct interviews, write scripts, and edit multiple stories on anchoring days.

    Producer Annenberg TV News Create rundown for 30-minute live newscast. Pitch stories and package ideas during morning meeting. Manage and direct a team of 40+ multimedia journalists, reporters and assignment editors. Order graphics and CNN footage, copyedit stories, and check each video before it is sent.     Manage and direct NeonTommy.com, the most visited college-run news site in the U.S. Use Google Analytics to promote, link to, and add roadblocks into heavily trafficked stories. Regularly update content on the homepage. Handle breaking news via social media updates and Storify. Write several stories per day with SEO-optimized headlines and teasers. Promote SMO-optimized stories via Facebook and Twitter.

    Wrote and edited VOSOTs, VOs and intros on deadline for 6pm and 11pm newscasts. Shot, edited and uploaded b-roll during breaking news assignments. Independently conducted interviews with officials during the announcement of new superintendent. Flagged down MOS interviews when in the field with reporters. Wrote, tracked, and edited packages after shadowing reporters in the field.

    Investigative News Intern, KCBS 2 / KCAL 9 News


    Operated hidden cameras and flip-cams in the field to help produce investigative stories. Interviewed callers on the investigative tipline about news tips. Highlighted story-essential segments when transcribing interviews into iNews. Researched and pitched stories, including one that aired about a dental company scamming clients out of thousands of dollars.
