Produce a network diagram for your design

Design an appropriate addressing scheme for the network

TCP/IP is a suite of protocols including Internet Protocol (IP), which provides network addressing. Each computer, network printer, all the servers and other network host on the Ministry of Agriculture network will be given a unique IP address. These IP addresses will be assigned automatically by the network operating system under the different subnet masks. This is a Class C network. The different servers will be given a Static IP address therefore it will use the same IP address each time it powers up. Dynamic IP address will be assigned to the other hosts. This means that IP addresses will be assigned automatically. We will be using IP protocol version 4 (IPv4). We have requested the licence for IP address 192.168.100.0 We will be subnetting the network to subdivide a single class of network addresses into smaller networks, allowing for more efficient use of IP addresses and priority of jobs and/or servers.

Describe how to secure the network

Step 1 Find the Gateway IP Address Find the Gateway IP Address and connect to it in Windows. Connect to the router via a web browser, by inputting the Gateway IP Address. This will allow us to log into the router. Step 2 Create a unique password on your router After login, change the default password and create a unique password for the router. This can be done from the Administration settings on your routers settings page Step 3 Change the Default SSID name Give your network a name that does not reveal the make or model of the router. Step 4 Enable Network Encryption This involves encrypting the wireless signals. We will be using the WPA2 encryption method and AES as the Encryption Type Step 5 Filter MAC addresses

Create a device list that shows the wired and wireless clients currently connected. For an added layer of protection, only add the MAC addresses of all your devices to your wireless routers settings so that only the specified devices can connect to your Wi-Fi network. Step 6 Turn off Guest Networking Guest networking allows others to access the routers and by default it's usually unsecure access, therefore no guest will be allowed to connect.
