AUSTRALIAN EMBASSY DUBLIN

Statement of Claims Against the Selection Criteria Part-Time Receptionist / Administrative Assistant Name of Applicant: Nicole Ranieri Date: 07/04/14 A. Demonstrated ability to perform general administrative/processing and financial activities, and comply with policies, procedures and legislative guidelines under direction.
In my previous position as Marketing officer and Receptionist at Grafton College, I had to guide and register students in the system according to the Immigrations laws, considering their background and rules from their origin countries.

B. Highly-developed planning and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a high volume, client-focused environment in order to achieve required outcomes.
As being Graftons a small office, every person in the team had to operate multiple tasks in different functions in a way to never leave anything unfinished or accumulated. That being said, the contact with travel agencies in foreign countries and students enquiries were always the priority, once they were the ones to connect us with the client or the client itself.

C. Ability to use a range of software applications, previous PABX experience and accurate data entry skills including Microsoft Excel and SAP.
From the times I worked in the pharmacy, in the magazine and at the college, the Microsoft Office package has proved to be essential at most of the times, reinforcing my knowledge of this software.

D. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with empathy, clearly and simply with people from diverse backgrounds both in person, over the phone and in writing using sound judgment, discretion and confidentiality.

As a receptionist and hostess, it was part of the main duties to greet and guide students and costumers with calm and patience, always in a professional and polite way, no matter the circumstance. During my time at the College, I had to deal with students personal and confidential information on a daily basis, assuring that none of their data would be exposed by any means.

E. Ability to contribute to the effective delivery of a service by providing a courteous, prompt and efficient service to internal and external clients.
The process of reaching, registering and admitting a student has many levels and each one of them controlled by a different employee, sometimes from different offices. Therefore, the process could not be interrupted by any means, having to follow a strict deadline in a way to never damage the client or the rest of the team.

F. Ability to adapt to change and work harmoniously with other team members in a busy work environment by demonstrating flexibility, reliability, adaptability, initiative and resourcefulness.
At the College, the presence of many different interns from different countries, plus the constant communication between the Irish office and the British one, there was a novelty in the team almost weekly. Most of the times the new members had to be taught by me in a way to quickly fit with the rest of the team. At the same time, as part of a Marketing project, new ideas and strategies had to be developed constantly to be presented to the principal and the owners. Once approved, the ideas were put in practice on the Colleges Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts by me.

G. Undergo a pre-employment probity (Garda/police) and medical checks and be legally able to work in Ireland.
My Garda Vetting form was filled last year, showing that I do not have any criminal history. Medical checks are done by myself regularly, combined with a healthy and drug-free lifestyle. As I am carrying a student visa at the moment, I am legible to legally work in a part-time position.
