Dear participants of the project E(urope) U(nited) Leaders, We are happy that you have been selected to be part

of the project E(urope) U(nited) Leaders approved by the European Commission under the Youth in Action Programme and to be implemented in May 2014. Below you can find important information about the project, what we will do, what you should do and prepare what is expected to happen. Short summery of the project:


What have started out as idea, as a means for safeguarding peace and enabling economic recovery among 6 countries back in the past have developed in the worlds grates Unions. The EU seems hardly recognizable from the tender integration project that started back in the history - the Union emerged as the only viable vehicle for organizing Europe. Being a youngster from EU means not only having European Citizenship but an obligation and motivation of being active young citizen involved in the society. Being a youngster in country outside EU is not that different. E(urope) U(nited) Leaders will join unemployed start-ups facilitators in youth work coming from EU and non-EU countries ready to take leading roles in their associations and will take them through a journey that will lead to development of various skills and improvement of their knowledge about EU in general, European Citizenship and non-formal methods they can use, adopt and implement in their work while facilitating workshops. They will develop communication skills, presentational skills, explore the topics of the training, and analyze non-formal methods that can be used during facilitating youth work on these topics and will have a chance to adopt and develop own workshops and methods. Training will unite organizations from Macedonia, Romania, Czech Republic, Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro and unemployed start up facilitators interested to become active trainers on topics connected to EU and European Citizenship. The training will be held in Struga in the period 02-10.05.2014 and the last working day of the project our trainers will have the chance to practice facilitation of a workshop in local high school where they will have opportunity to implement a workshop dedicated to Europe and European Citizenship. The workshop will lead to promotion of European idea in local town on Europe Day 09.05 and will involve 40 youngsters in learning about Citizenship and Europe. Follow up workshops will follow in each country.

The objective of the project are:


to broaden participants knowledge about EU and European Citizenship by analyzing, role play and active participation in interactive workshops;

to ensure development of skills of participants such as effective communication skills, presentational and facilitation skills and through this to ensure creating a strong network of young trainers; to arm participants with skills, resources, methods used when learning about EU and European Citizenship; to empower them to become educators in youth field ready to take leading role in youth organization and transmit the knowledge through various projects; to analyze non-formal methods of learning used in this area, motivate them to adopt and develop new workshops, activities and methods and publish them; to provide them space to experience in practice facilitations by giving them a chance to organize promotion of European Idea to local youngsters on the 09 of May; to straighten cooperation among our organizations. Through the project we will promote European Citizenship, will motivate our group to be ready to build their future Their Europe, we will promote European Diversity and involve EU and Non-EU countries, ensure participation of startup facilitators unemployed volunteers ready to work in youth field, promote active participation.

Project dates and venue:


The project will be implemented in Struga, Macedonia in the period ARRAIVAL Day 02nd of May 2014 DEPARTURE 10th of May 2014. Hotel Biser, Struga will accommodate participants in triple-bed rooms. Accommodation and food based on full board agreed menu with the hotel (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are covered by the organizational budget. Profile of the groups to join the project:


Each of the groups involved in the project are composed of 4 people in total (2 males and 2 females) representing one of the countries partner in the project, Macedonia, Serbia, Romania, Montenegro, Croatia and Czech Republic. Age of participants selected: 18-25 Important information about the each individual: Participants should be interested in EU topics, especially in working with young people as future facilitators on topics connected to EU, should speak English and be motivated and ready to continue the work started in the project through follow up projects. Please note that you need to be active at least 90 % of the whole program in order to be entitle to travel reimbursement, meaning respect some ground rules and the time and efforts of the trainers involved in the project.

Participants preparations:
Before joining us at the project please take a look at the following steps you all need to make: Read carefully every part of this info pack Fill in the application form that is sent to you with this info pack. It is essential to us to know you and your needs before joining the project. Deadline to truly reserve your place at the project by sending us your application 24th of April 2014. Start preparing your trip. You will need to organize your travel details and how you will join us in Struga. More information about how to reach us please see below in the info pack. Now, since you have passed the first few steps please put your attention to the following obligations as groups representing your country: As a group make a research on the topic of Citizenship in a national context within YOUR country. Make a short presentation of - What is Your National Citizenship, how much people in your country know about it, what kind of rights you have as citizens of your own countries, what does young people know about citizenship, can you say young people are active citizens in your society, share some positive and negative examples of how you learn about citizenship projects, actions ect. During the project you will be given the task to transmit this presentation to the rest of the group you will need to share information about Citizenship in your country, presentation should be short no longer than 5 minutes, NATIONAL PRESENTATION: As a group think how you will present your country to the rest of the group. You will have a National evening to organize as a group and present your cultures, tradition, songs, dances, food. Bring as much as you can promotional material from your country and share it with us, food, snacks, drinks, songs ect.

Prepare a national song In the programe we will have an open night for performance where each group will be asked to perform one national song. You can put music in the background but still it will be expected from you to participate in the EuroConcert Night. During the EuroConcert it is expected from you to have official dress code ! Suits for man Dress from woman.

You can have EUR in the country and exchange them very easily. The local currency in Macedonia are Denars MKD and for information 1 EUR = 61.3 MKD, 1 bear = 60 MKD, 1 Sandwich = 70 MKD, 1 Milka Chocolade = 55 MKD; Struga is a city at Ohrid Lake, and near the hotel we have a beach. If the weather conditions suits us you can swim in the lake bring swimming suit, sun cream, and a towel for the beach.

If you would like to find more information about the hosting country you can visit: www.exploringmacedonia.com The capital city of Macedonia, Skopje is connected to all world larger cities by plane, train and bus. PLANE: If you are choosing plane to arrive you must know the following http://skp.airports.com.mk/default.aspx?ItemID=372 this is the link for the airport web-site. The airport in linked to the city Skopje by taxi and by bus. Taxi will cost you 20 EUR maximum, Bus will be less than 3 EUR. Taxi and buses should take you to the main bus station is Skopje from were you have buses to all the cities in Macedonia regularly. BUS: If you choose to use bus to arrive, here is the link of the main bus station in Skopje www.sas.com.mk. Regular bus lines connections are available to Struga. TRAIN: There is a possibility for you to arrive on the train station in Skopje which in fact is at the same place with the bus station just different flour. There are only few train connections Skopje - inner country. We recommend to use a bus to Struga. When you will be in Struga, please take a taxi to hotel Biser ask for a recite from the taxi we will reimburse it. The taxi will cost you around 300 denars = 5 eur. Dont be afraid the hotel is a bit outside of the city, near the lake.

Participation rules:
According to Youth in Action rules we reimburse 70% of your travel costs in the max amount of:
ROMANIA 250 EUR per person (70% - 175 EUR) MONTENEGRO 150 EUR per person (70% - 105 EUR) CZECH REPUBLIC 350 EUR per person (70% - 245 EUR) CROATIA 250 EUR per person (70% - 175 EUR) SERBIA 120 EUR per person (70% - 84 EUR)

There is no participation fee for the project and accommodation based on full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner) will be covered by the hosting organization. Reimbursement will be done upon recite of all tickets, boarding passes, recites. It is essential for you to keep all tickets.
