We aim to promote sustainable fishing through the use of good photography, correct measuring techniques and sound handling techniques.

We dont not support poor handling practice and heavily recommend following the Kimberley recreational fishing code of practice where applicable. BFC supports the use of brag mats for measuring fish. Any billfish, including sailfish and marlin should be handled in the water no points will be given for billfish handled otherwise. The club will not be held accountable for damage, loss or injury for competitors for the duration of the competition

Rules:
This is largely an honesty system. Open to any anglers using rod and reel and handline methods. Anglers under the age of 18 must obtain parental or guardian approval before applying for the competition. Points will be given based on species and then multiplied by the length as per scoring statement. The ruler needs to be visible over the length of the fish any images that are cropped or dont display the measures clearly will have no length multiplier calculated you will only get the points for the fish. One fish per angler per week can be submitted so catch a big one and make sure your photo is good. The Measurements must be clearly visible to indicate the measurement of any fish the exception is any billfish. Where measurements on the entry details and the photo dont match No multiplier will be calculated into your score. Billfish will be given points on the species alone, no length multiplier will be applied. Photos should be submitted to BFClinkedin@gmail.com before Midnight on the Monday of the preceding weekend and should be submitted in 1 3mb files. Submission of your weekly entry should indicate your name, birthdate, sex, species, length (Except Billfish) and whether you were fishing the offshore or shore based. A count back system will be implemented in the final calculation of overall aggregate champions. Fish from outside of the state waters arent permitted.
