DESIGNER CAROLINA HERRERA FASHION WEEK TICKETS WITH MEET & GREET AVAILABLE THROUGH ONLINE AUCTION TO RAISE FUNDS FOR HAITI HOSPITAL PALM BEACH, FL, April 9, 2014 Designer Carolina Herrera was honored by Hpital Albert Schweitzer Haiti (HAS) on April 2 at the Flagler Museum in Palm Beach for her dedication to improving the health of children. The hospital in Haiti was started by Dr. Larry and Gwen Mellon and is now in its 57 th year of lifesaving care. Co-chaired by Palm Beach residents Anna Murdoch-Mann, Louise Stephaich and Tom Quick, the White Hot Night gala drew 300 guests, who generously bid on the exciting auction items that included an African safari and tickets to the season finale of American Idol. The event raised more than $500,000 to benefit the hospital. Sponsors included Bacardi USA, News Corp, 21st Century Fox, and Neiman Marcus. Carolina Herrera fans who were unable to attend the event can help the cause by bidding for two tickets to the Carolina Herrera spring 2015 fashion show to take place in New York in September 2014. After the fashion show, the winners will have the opportunity to meet and greet the iconic fashion designer backstage. Bidding is available online: click here for online bidding. Established in 1956, HAS comprises a 131bed hospital, mobile clinics, and four community health centers serving more than 350,000 people. The communitybased healthcare and health education programs have served as models for community healthcare services in challenged environments throughout the world. HAS focuses heavily on preventative care that minimizes the need for expensive inpatient care. The hospital fully immunizes thousands of children every year, provides malnutrition screening and treatment, nutrition education, reproductive health education, and helps ensure that mothers are provided with appropriate prenatal and postnatal care and education. In addition, the hospital is one of a small number of trauma centers in Haiti. For further information about HAS, including how to give, visit www.hashaiti.org. ###
