Over the last sixty years of business activity, there has been new ways and means of conducting

business through something we call technology. Technology is the advancement and use of electronic devices and other high-tech equipment to produce and progress knowledge into the future. Advancements in technology have affected management leadership in many ways over the last sixty years. New technology has altered leaders' consciousness, language, and the way they view their organization. Technological advancements have made things easier for those in management leadership roles. But as with anything, there are positive and negative aspects of technology on leadership. Some of the positive aspects of technology are: the availability and use of wireless networking, collaboration tools, digital video, handheld devices, and videoconferencing. On the other hand, the negative aspects of technology are: it offers less privacy, it allows for less interaction with others, and it runs a high risk of contact with viruses. Technology is ever-present. Computer have invaded our workplace. It has make our life easier . in manyu ways technology has make our life complicated and simple task became complex. The manager of computer integrated manufacturing may find that he has a fascinating, challenging job with numerous career alternatives. Similarly an electrician in a manufacturing plan sent to learn to repair programmable automation may find a whole new world open up of intresting work and job opportunities. Technology impact on work is contingent on a broad set of factors including a reason for its introduction and management philosophy. A contingency model of technology and organization was discussed in article perceptive on technology and work organization. Published in annul review of sociology by Jeffery K.Liker. In this model he argued that the impact of technology depends on a variety of factors.

Model defines set of variable that the impact of technology is contingent upon:

Organizational context Management philosophy Nature of technology. -Level of analysis (organizational, departmen tal and individual) -Complexity of technology. Technology selection process (Why) -Object -Intrest group -Decision power. Implementation process (How) -Scope of implementation -Political intrest -Power balance Outcomes . -Business -Management content -Quality of worklife

Best way of technology depends on the characteristics of technology. Long linked sequential technologies are best manage using theory X and Taylor Approach. The main challenge the technology based companies will have to face in relation to the management of the life cycle of their technology, consolidation and simplification of their processes within their computing environments, aiming to increase productivity and develop agile environment that allow organization to meet the demand of managing digital information. The increasing availability of technology has shown ambiguity in their management. Technology play an important role in world economy. The companies industries government are getting increasing benefits from their conteneous investment in technology. Innovation in services increased

the efficiency of production and creation. It also facilitated the management of inventories and administrative cost. There are many theories of IT adoption. The most used theory are technology acceptance model(TAM). Diffusion on innovation (DOI) is a theory of How, Why and at what rate new ideas and technology spread through culture, operating at the individual and firm level. DOI theory sees innovations at being communicated through certain channels over time and within a particular social system(Rogers 1195).

Individual(Leader) Characteristics. (Attitude toward change)

Organizational Innovations

Internal characteristics of organizational structure (Centralization, complexity)

External characteristics of the organization.

Technology organization and environment (TOE) model defines the aspect that influence the process by which enterprises adopt and implement a technological innovation. It can be used for studying the adoption and assimilation of different types of IT innovation. The environment context presents both constraints and opportunities for technological innovation.

There are many example under TOE when organization adopt IT. To understand this we have an example of IT adoptions, such as: electronic data interchange (EDI) : i. ii. iii. In technological context Organizational context Environmental context preassure. perceived direct benefits; perceived indirect benefits. perceived financial cost; perceived technical competence. perceived industry pressure ; perceived government
