Thank you for all that information. I want you to know that the DNR is taking action on this matter. Neither
ACDEC or the Municipality has authorized or endoresed such activities. Just like the other activity annonced
for May 24 in Flamenco. We are giving support to DNR on the investigation.
Kindly,
Linda M. Vega Gonzlez
Mayor's Secretary

Subject: Urgent: Dakity Boat Party Promotion
Saludos:
This is to report another very bad idea, on the coral reef at Dakity.
The last bad idea beer party at Dakity resulted in the death of two people.
http://www.coralations.phanfare.com/4621436
Coast Guard was notified repeatedly in advance of the electronically announced party.
Coast Guard came to Culebra to inspect the private ferry rented by WAY Communications to promote Medalla beer.
They told us FURA was handling security, and we have video of the FURA helicopter landing on the reef at Dakity!
The community and mayor stopped the plans to have the private ferry set up with
stage lights, and a band while the 10,000gal fuel truck refueled visiting vessels - yes, from the party barge.
Coast Guard said the ferry past inspection I assume for its intended use, as a ferry, not a band stand/gas station.
Sylvia Nieves, supported by other local protesters, pulled her car half on, and half off the ferry/party barge.
She locked the doors and took off. When State police came and made protesters leave, the vessel headed to
Dakity even
after learning the Mayor said no to the party. The vessel was followed and surrounded by Culebra activists on boats,
which forced the vessel to turn around.

Because of the event's promotion, there were hundreds of boats anchored in Dakity.
It was no surprise when later that evening, two swimmers were horribly killed by the propeller of a speeding,
intoxicated boater.
Please don't let it happen again..for the people or what's left of the coral reef at Dakity.
