0veiview: This fiist giaue economics unit is compiiseu of six lessons that emphasize the uiaue Level Content Expectations
(uLCEs) 1-E1.u.1, 1-E1.u.2, anu 1-E1.u.S. It is intenueu to help stuuents unueistanu economic activity in a maiket economy.
Two lessons pei uLCE aie pioviueu.
Rationale: In this unit, stuuents will use the funuamental piinciples anu concepts of economics to bioauen theii
unueistanuing of economic activity. The stuuents will exploie topics such as piouuceis anu consumeis of goous anu seivices,
consumption of goous anu seivices, scaicity, anu choice. Exploiing the many ways the stuuent's family consumes goous anu
seivices exposes the stuuent to the eveiyuay encounteis they have with economics. These topics will be taught thiough
