This website offered many quotes about the Gibson Girls. We used many of these quotes to help us with the Gibson Girl page. The quotes talked about two different perspectives from women. They talk about why women wanted to wear shirtwaists and why women should be independent. It was very unique hearing the different perspectives. Anonymous. "TEXT DOCUMENTS." Cornell University. It talks about the way they used to look and the way they were styled. This was very useful for creating our Gibson Girl page.

This website has many different pictures that we used and different descriptions about each picture. At the bottom of the picture it describes what is happening in each picture. She told stories to her son about her experience and he shared them with New York Daily News in an interview. Rose wanted to help others escape so she held her skirt over herself and ran towards the others. Everyone she helped survived as did she. It was very interesting hearing her perspective of the fire. We used these pictures in our slideshow on our home page. It took a while to find the pictures but once we did they were very interesting.

It was very interesting to see an actual newspaper from 1911. The paper had bystanders perspectives and pictures from the fire. We used a ton of the information from this newspaper on the fire page. We used most of the pictures in our slideshow and it explains what happened in the picture. The paragraphs are very useful because they are descriptive and detailed.

It was a longer quote but had very good points made by Frances Perkins. Frances Perkins was the leader of a union and a group of strikers. Frances had a major role in the strike and wanting better working conditions in shops everywhere. "Quotes about Gibson Girl." They are helpful because they say what people used to say about the Gibson Girls. Whether the quotes are good or bad they still are useful.

The quotes are all about the strike and why the workers wanted to rebel. The quotes were very interesting and showed a lot of emotion. Its very helpful because there are sentences that describe what the picture is. There are comments that people also wrote about the fire which helped.

This paper was written about the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Strike. It talks mainly about Anne Morgan and her contributions towards the strike. Anne Morgan was accepted into the Womens Trade Union League, she attended the meetings and became the head organizer of a committee that recruited picket signs and prepared for the strike. She was a part of many other organizations and committees and had a major role in helping recruit supplies for the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Strike. Anonymous. When you clicked on each event it then explained in detail the main points and even gave websites to gather more information on the subject. We used many points from all sorts of topics like the strike and the owners trial. This source was very helpful and covered many topics.

It covers who the six unknown bodies were. It also talks about where they were buried and who figured out the mystery to them. Michael Hirsch successfully named all six people 100 years after the fire. It describes about the families these people belonged to. This was fun to read through and useful in making our Funeral Page.

This website is all about the fire and the unions that were formed. It has many good quotes from people that were involved in the strike, we used many of them in contributing to our final project. CNN also made a documentary including all the information that we watched to learn even more. We used this information in our articles about the fire and the strike. This website helped us out a lot when we were looking for information about the flappers. Flappers and Gibson Girls are the same things except Gibson Girls were more popular. Most of the website talks about why all the women wanted to have the style of a flapper or a Gibson Girl and why their style of clothing was so popular at the time of the Triangle shirtwaist Fire. It got deeper into detail about their lives compared to other women's lives. This website made it easier to understand all about flappers.

This website gave us some info about the Gibson girls but not a ton. It has more information about the author, Charles Dana Gibson. It was still very helpful just not a lot of information was provided as we wouldve wanted. The article summed up everything about the Gibson Girls. It included information about the causes and consequences for the triangle factory fire. It helped us understand the how dangerous and serious the fire really was. It also provided a list of laws that were put in place after the fire. It also had lots of facts about what happened after the fire. Levy, Michael. It mainly focused on the effect after the fire. We learned about the factory conditions before and after the tragedy. It had a lot of information about the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and strike that the organization led. There were also some quotes said by survivors talking about their perspective. This website was packed full of very useful information for many of our tabs.

Lieurance, Suzanne. The Triangle Shirtwaist Fire and Sweatshop Reform. Berkeley Heights: Enslow Inc. This book focused more on the working conditions and the fire. This book had a ton of pictures that we couldnt even find on the internet. Suzanne Lieurance was very descriptive and packed this book full of facts. It talked about who was blamed, mainly the owners. The owners were blamed for keeping the doors locked, and being in charge of the factory and workers. The website page included what was said at the trial and how it all went down. There was also an attached paper about the fire that was useful and went into more detail about the trial. Minor, Steve. The paragraph that he wrote was about what he thought personally about the fire and who to blame. This helped us understand better, knowing about how other people thought about it. It made it easier to feel what other people at this time felt about the fire.

There were pictures showing how they remembered the fire and their family members that were lost in the fire. This showed us everything that they did to remember the fire, and people that were killed in the fire. This website also provided a neat newspaper article about the fire, and the new laws were passed.

Chapters one through four focused on the working conditions of the factory. Chapter two was very descriptive and used many pictures to show emphasis on how bad the conditions really were. It also talks about in one month, 723 people were arrested just for protesting the conditions of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory.
