Divine Mercy Sunday

The Sunday after Easter is universally observed throughout the Church as Divine Mercy Sunday. John Paul the Great established the Feast of Divine Mercy Sunday during the canonization of St. Faustina in the Jubilee Year 2000. Our Lords great promise: The soul that will go to Confession and then receive Holy Communion shall obtain the complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. We want to encourage everyone to take advantage of this incredible promise on this Great Feast of Mercy. Fr. Mario invites everyone in the parish to attend the Divine Mercy Sunday Devotion with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on April 27th from 2:30 3:30 p.m. in the Church. A light reception (no potluck) will follow in the Music Room.

HAPPY EASTER TO EVERYONE! HALLELUJAH! THE LORD HAS RISEN! How can we describe the greatness of Easter? Words are not enough to describe it because only God can create and explain this great mystery of Easter. But the Word of God makes us experience what words cannot fully explain. The Risen Jesus revealed to us Gods infinite goodness, and it is good to understand the effects of Easter in our faith and life. EASTER brought us: LOVE - God loved us so much that He gave His own Son for our sake. LIFE - the love of God is stronger than death. JOY- we are loved and saved by Christs resurrection. FAITH - Christs victory strengthened our faith that God cares for us. HOPE - God will make life better through Christs victory. PEACE - brought about by Gods mercy and forgiveness. JUSTICE - sins were pardoned and grace was restored. GLORY - the Risen Lord revealed to us that we will share His glory. SALVATION - Christs rising is also our rising to new life. Easter is Gods victory and humanitys gain. Easter is an experience of heaven and eternal life where goodness and godliness are the rule of life. As Springtime brings new life in nature, through the Risen Christ, may we also find newness and meaning in life.

Stained Glass Restoration

In one week, restoration of the stained glass windows in the church will begin. The work will be done by Artistic Designs of San Marcos. The work will take approximately 8 to 10 months to complete, and a total of 55 windows will be restored at a cost of $60,000. The original windows were made in Ireland over 50 years ago and are in dire need of restoration. Many of the windows are badly warped and many pieces of glass are either cracked or missing. Information will be provided in the coming weeks on how you can donate to help cover the cost of the restoration project.
