(Close up on t o pairs of !are feet" Adam and Eve" camera pans up" female hand !eing led ith another hand" to !ite an apple" !ac# out to see female !eing forced to hand male the apple ho is forced !$ another hand to ta#e apple and !ite% close up of female mouth !iting into an apple% Jumps to close up of a male mouth !iting into the apple% Satan stands !et een them in the !ac#ground and loo#s pleased ith himself% Fades to !lac# as Satan !egins to spea#% Close up on Satan&s face'e$es as he spea#s a!out Adam and Eve( SATAN) This is the !eginning of the end% That%%%child (said ith disgust(% That little #ing (moc#ing(% (Satan is a $oung man" ith sharp features% *ischievous slanting smile ith an intensel$ angr$ glare" $et a calmness on the surface% A cool nonchalance a!out this character% Intensel$ plotting% +as a strange other, orldl$ vi!e" #ind of slim$ and sna#$( SATAN) There as a prophet ho said" -./-+ET) 0The virgin ill conceive and give !irth to a son" and the$ ill call him Immanuel%1 SATAN) Immanuel" meaning 2od ith us% This as the !eginning of m$ trou!les% I succeeded in Eden ith that oman% She as so eas$ to manipulate" so easil$ misled% And the man3 The *AN as 4ust as simple" follo ing her 4ust as man$ men ould% (Fade out on Satan" fade in on *ar$" a $oung girl" o!viousl$ impressiona!le and relativel$ pure%( SATAN) 5ut *ar$%%%oh *ar$% She as so ver$ $oung" so ver$ !eautiful% 6oung female minds are usuall$ so eas$ to manipulate% (spo#en into *ar$&s ear( 7A child !orn to a virgin8 Joseph ill not !e pleased%& *A.6'SATAN) (together( +o ill that loo#8 (9oom out on *ar$&s full person" o!viousl$ pregnant" Satan is no longer there% An angel holds *ar$&s shoulders and spea#s to her( AN2EL)Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you. Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over Jacobs descendants forever; his kingdom will never end. MARY: But how? I am a virgin! ANGEL: The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. (Zoom out on Mary, she is again alone) MARY: I am the Lords servant. It is well with my soul.

(Change to Satan playing Chess. He moves a pawn, looks up to the camera, speaking to viewer, playing with the apple which a demon has brought to him with two bites missing.He tosses apple in the air, catches it, looks at it and throws it to the side.) SATAN: So the child was born, despite my best efforts to ruin that birth. I made sure Mary and Joseph were spared no deterrent as they traveled to Bethlehem for a census. As luck might have it, the only option Mary had was to give birth in a stable.(flash of birth pains) Of all places! God born to a virgin, the Son of the Most High born in the lowliest form I could ask for, (another flash) in the barn with the filthy animals. (baby crying). (To Jesus, leaning over baby) What a laugh! JOSEPH: Welcome, Jesus. Immanuel, God with us. (Satan chuckles ominously)

SCENE 2: Jesus Performs a Miracle

SATAN: Years went by. Ill spare you all the details of his blas childhood because quite frankly it bores me all to hell. Well skip along to when things started to get interesting. (Jesus talking with his disciples, all sitting, all enjoying themselves. Satan is circling them, narrating.) SATAN: He developed and entourage, a group of followers, if you will. They hung on every word he said and followed him around like lost puppies. Not lost enough for my taste. The whole Jesus movement was still relatively fresh in Israel and he and his gang were wandering from town to town, preaching his Good News which ultimately got him run out of almost every town he went to since not many Jews were too thrilled about a man claiming to be the Messiah. (Demon possessed man) (Matthew 9:32-38) While they were going out, a man who was demon-possessed and could not talk was brought to Jesus. (Man stumbles to Jesus, possessed, and tries to attack him, Jesus pushes the man and the demon falls out of him and both land on the ground. The man scrambles away from the demon, afraid, and the demon hisses and runs to Satan, cowering behind him like a pet.) And when the my darling demon was driven out, the man who had been mute spoke. MAN: What was that?! I can speak?! You healed me! Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel. Thank you, THANK YOU! Surely, you are the son of God! PHARISEE: (As Satan mouths along) It is by the prince of demons that he drives out demons. (Satans hand on the Pharisees shoulder, disciples look very upset at this statement and try to shield Jesus from the pharisee, but Jesus motions that he does not need their protection.) SATAN: And he kept driving out my influence across the land. I was starting to get very irritated. (Fades to black)

SCENE 3: Jesus teaching moment SATAN: He did some teaching around the area, trying to get out his message, but very few understood him, and his teachings were a bit extreme at times. It certainly made my job easier. JESUS: 0If an$one causes one of these little ones:those ho !elieve in me:to stum!le" it ould !e !etter for them if a large millstone ere hung around their nec# and the$ ere thro n into the sea% ;< If $our hand causes $ou to stum!le" cut it off% It is !etter for $ou to enter life maimed than ith t o hands to go into hell" here the fire never goes out% =;;> ;? And if $our foot causes $ou to stum!le" cut it off% It is !etter for $ou to enter life crippled than to have t o feet and !e thro n into hell% =;@> ;A And if $our e$e causes $ou to stum!le" pluc# it out% It is !etter for $ou to enter the #ingdom of 2od ith one e$e than to have t o e$es and !e thro n into hell" ;B here the worms that eat them do not die,
and the fire is not quenched.
SATAN: AH, yes...home.

JESUS: 49 Everyone will be salted with fire. DEMONS: FIRE FIRE FIRE (whispered, crawling around Satan) JESUS:50 Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt among yourselves, and be at peace with each other. (Jesus continues on, walking away happily, as if nothing strange had just happened. The apostles follow, a bit shocked and confused The crowd left behind discusses fervently amongst themselves, some follow Jesus as he walks off. Satan stays back clapping) SATAN) Ah $eah%%%$eah the$ didn&t Cuite understand their fearless leader% /thers didn&t li#e ho eDtreme his doctrines ere% 6et" there ere some ho reall$ clung to him" he as their shelter through ever$ storm I thre their a$%

SCENE 4: Jesus is tempted

(In the desert, stones to bread, pinnacle of the temple, mountain.) (Jesus goes out into the wilderness, led by the spirit. He sits down on a log/rock, famished and tired. Satan appears in the distance in a long shot of Jesus.) SATAN:Hey...buddy (false enthusiasm. Goes to throw an arm around Jesus, but thinks better of it and pulls back his hand.) Alright, you know why you are here. JESUS: Come at me with your worst, Lucifer. I am prepared to turn down any offer you have for me. SATAN: Lucifer, eh? Getting a little chummy arent we? Ah well, lets begin . (Satan picks up a few stones sitting nearby, tosses one in the air. Then another into the water.) SATAN: IF you are the Son of God, Carpenter from Nazarene, born of a virrrrgin, Then turn these stones into bread. I know you are hungry. Youve been starving yourself, for what cause? (Satan tosses the stone to Jesus, Jesus catches it.)

JESUS: Oh, little rock. I hear you cry out in praise to God. (Jesus kisses the rock, sets it down. Pan to Satans face, as if he thinks he has won) JESUS: You are a beautiful rock, and a rock you will stay. SATAN: All you have to do is speak it, will it to be so, and these stones will turn into bread in your hands. JESUS: It is written: Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. Why would bread be more enticing than the words of my father? Surely you can do better than this! (Jesus speaks with a smile and laugh, with a Bring it on attitude) SATAN: (Obviously perturbed by Jesus challenging) Oh, but that is just the beginning. (Close up on the rock that JEsus put down. The rock is now on fire. JUMP to scene at top of a mountain. Satan stands with his arms folded, both Jesus and Satan stand facing the edge of the mountain. ) JESUS: AH! Just look at the beauty which God has created. Breathe in the mountain air! (stretching his arms out. Satan looking thoroughly unhappy and annoyed) SATAN: Yes...charming. We are rather high up arent we. So high that I suppose if you were to fall, you could cry out to heaven and the angels would hear you and catch you midair! (Satan throws an acorn into the air and catches it, holds it out to Jesus. ) You could show them all who you really are. This would surely prove that you are the Son of God. (Jesus doesnt take the acorn immediately, and when Jesus simply looks at the acorn, Satan throws the acorn off the side of the mountain with a smirk.) JESUS: I could certainly call upon angels, but why should we test God? I have nothing to prove. I AM the son of God. SATAN: Ah...yes...so you claim. (Satan snaps his fingers and Satan and Jesus are transported to a small coffee shop sitting at a table in the corner. Satan has papers with him.) Well my little lamb. what if I told you that you could have control over all of the rulers of Earth? (Satan slides the papers toward Jesus on the table) This entire world is my playground. I control so very much of what happens here. I have always liked you Jesus. Youre a good guy! We could rule over all of this together...if you just...sign your soul over to me. JESUS: BE GONE SATAN. You are a nuisance. I will bow down to no being other than my Heavenly Father. Your powers you claim to have are fleeting, and any man who can stand up for what is good takes away your power. LEAVE ME. SATAN: Have it your way then! You will regret this though, I assure you. I do not like being turned down. Prepare yourself, Jesus of Nazarene, for your day of death is coming. You are human now, and humans die.

SCENE 5: Jesus is arrested

SATAN: Then, I had an idea: one among Jesus was specifically easy to manipulate. I noticed this from the beginning of his ministry. His name was Judas. Judas was...greedy. Oh, how greedy men can be! Despite his friendship with Jesus, he was easily persuaded to give him up for just a few pieces of silver. JUDAS/SATAN: How much will you give me for him? PHARISEE: 30 Pieces of silver. Take it or leave it. SATAN: And from then on, Judas looked for any chance to betray Jesus. It really didnt take much coercion on my part. The downfall of mankind is God-given free will. It makes my job so much easier.

(Satan crawling around Judas. Just satan and Judas, whispering, circling him, etc. Judas doesnt see him. Judas gets the satan mark after satan is done talking to him in his ear. Judas spins around, camera stops with close up on Jesus face.) JESUS: Do what you must do, but do it quickly. (Pharisees encircle Jesus, Judas runs away, ashamed of what he has done. Satan takes a rope around Jesus wrists, puts it over his shoulder and prances away with the Pharisees hands on Jesus shoulders.) SATAN: So they took him to Pilate, the man who would be the Judge at Jesus trial. Unfortunately, his judgements did not meet my expectation. PILATE: I find no guilt in this man. He has done nothing wrong, nothing worth crucifixion. SATAN: You cant rely on anyone these days. If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. (Satan puts on a fake mustache as a disguise and turns towards Pilate in the crowd) THIS MAN HAS CLAIMED TO BE THE MESSIAH! HE DOES MIRACLES ON THE SABBATH! CROWD MEMBER 1: YEAH! HE HAS DOMINION OVER THE EVIL SPIRITS AND DRIVES THEM OUT OF PEOPLE! CROWD MEMBER 2: HE CAN WALK ON WATER! THATS NOT HUMAN! CROWD MEMBER 3: HES A MENACE! PHARISEE: HES A FRAUD! CROWD MEMBER 5: KILL HIM! SATAN: Well, that escalated nicely. I love mob mentality. (Satan is sitting in a chair at a table, he moves a chess piece. Jesus, kneeling, has a face of power and bravery, not fear). PILATE: Hold on everyone, I have the power to release one prisoner a year. Would you not rather release this man who has done no wrong, than a man like Barabas, the very man who has murdered many of your friends and family? SATAN: LET BARABAS GO FREE! (Crowd roars in agreement and Barabas is brought forward. Satan grabs hold of Barabas chains and throws him to the side. Satans demons overcome Barabas as if they are devouring him.) PILATE: (to Jesus) Im afraid the people have spoken. JESUS: So be it. It is what the Lord has decided. SATAN: So Jesus, are you scared yet? JESUS: Perfect love casts out fear, and my death is an act of perfect love. SATAN: (To the sky) Your favorite people are about to kill your one and only son. Not so big and powerful now, are you? (Satan rubs his hands together and calls his demons to him and walks off, demons following him.) JESUS: I was destined for this from birth. I am your sacrificial lamb, without fault.

SCENE 6: Jesus is crucified (Satans almost win)

SATAN/DEMONS: Crucify...crucify...crucify the Lamb of God. Crucify! His blood must be spilt! (Flashes of Jesus face. Each flash His face is more bloody than before. More bruised. More dead.The Holy Spirit, a motherly figure, and God, stand nearby the scene but still apart in both location and affect. The Holy Spirit is clutching God, and God is holding her, out of horror and sadness. )

GOD: He must do this on his own. He was made for this moment. (God looks away from Jesus with pain in his face, and the Holy Spirit continues to cry) JESUS: (looks up to heaven with love in his face) It....is....finished, Father! (God and the Holy Spirit hold out a hand lovingly to Jesus) SATAN: (close up on his face) JESUS.... IS .....DEAD!! (with audible spiteful hatred in his voice. ) (Zoom out and fade to black on Jesus face, on the ground, eyes open, dead. Two people dressed in white, God and the Holy Spirit, come to Jesus side, call angels to pick him up and carry him away.)

SCENE 7: Jesus resurrection (Satan loses)

(God, Satan, and Holy Spirit sit at the table in the white room in which Satan was playing chess earlier in the film, three against one. GOD/HOLY SPIRIT: We are not yet finished, Satan. SATAN: You cannot possibly think you will win this game! I have your queen cornered, and your King is practically dead. JESUS:(Jesus appears in the seat opposite Satan, moves his piece and wins the game) Checkmate, Lucifer. (Satan becomes enraged and tries to flee to the people of the earth but the Holy Spirit stands among them. Satan turns from the people as they walk toward him with the intent to capture him. He turns around and runs smack into God. God grabs Satan by the shoulders. He has been caught.) GOD: (To Satan and to the people) Jesus will rise, and the holy spirit will remain among the people in his place. You are nothing, Satan. In mankinds weakness, you only proved me to be strong. You have lost. You cannot win anymore. (Satan slumps to the floor, defeated) JESUS: (turning toward God) Let us go home now. GOD: Well, done my boy, well done. (Jesus is lead away by God and the two of them disappear down the road. The crowd of people begin to walk around and Satan is lost entirely in the crowd. ) * THE END *
