In your network ecosystem, signaling is top of the food chain. If something goes wrong, malfunctions, or the technology you are using cannot cope with traffic levels it can be catastrophic for the entire network. As network traffic continues to increase around the world, operators can no longer overlook the importance of an advanced signaling solution, and are becoming smarter in the way they handle traffic and data surges. The Signaling Focus Day at the LTE World Summit will bring together signaling experts from around the globe, from both operators and the most innovative service providers. It will be an opportunity to discuss the challenges of signaling in the big data era, and what operators can do to maximise quality of service, while minimising costs and the risk of a signaling storm.

CONFIRMED SPEAKERS INCLUDE:

23rd June 2014, Amsterdam RAI

The growing capacity demand in networks today is unrelenting. Users expect faster data speeds, quicker access, and shorter download times, comparable to that of fixed broadband. Innovations currently happening in the antenna space present an opportunity to increase capacity, while minimising real estate costs and keeping TCO low. But how do you leverage this new evolved antenna toolkit to greatest effect? All new for 2014, the Antenna Evolution Focus day will help you answer this question. It will provide RAN engineers and senior management the opportunity to discover and share innovations at cell sites which are essential in the move towards LTE-A. Examining technologies such as DAS, MIMO, AAS and Beamforming, this focus day will bring you a step closer to the capacity demands your users require.

4G STRATEGY: SUCCESSFUL OPERATORS SHOW HOW LTE CAN IMPROVE KPIS

Pricing remains the single most important factor in determining LTE subscription uptake. Now that the most sought-after devices are LTEenabled, and in the major spectrum bands, device availability is no longer hampering LTE uptake, especially in developed markets. The most successful LTE operators in terms of subscriptions currently dont charge more for accessing their 4G network than they do the 3G network. Some that have charged a premium for 4G access at launch have subsequently moved these prices in line with 3G pricing and seen much greater success in signing up 4G users.

Operators are using LTE to improve the quality of the mobile broadband experience to differentiate from rivals, causing rivals to launch after the first LTE-mover in a market. LTE operators are continually improving network coverage, expanding the reach of the service to more potential users.

The most sought-after devices can connect to an increasing number of frequencies used for LTE.

Successful LTE operators, in terms of subscription uptake, aren't charging a premium for LTE access over 3G.

Excellent course, exactly what I was looking for AL, Airspan

COURSES RUNNING ALONGSIDE LTE WORLD SUMMIT 2014:

Informa Certified LTE Radio Planning and Optimisation Professional
23-27 July 2014, Amsterdam
This certification programme covers the principles and execution of LTE radio planning and optimisation. It begins with a discussion of the LTE physical layer explaining the time and frequency domain structures and covering those aspects of the LTE radio interface that will have an impact on coverage and capacity. A detailed examination of LTE link budgets is provided, identifying and calculating the typical link budget reference points and discussing elements of the budgeting process that are unique to LTE. Following the calculation of link budget pathloss, the course turns to propagation models and cell radius prediction. Typical models are discussed and compared and full link budget and radius predictions are carried out. To support the link budget and modelling techniques, as well as apply the learning in an industry-leading software package, Mentum Planet will be used to demonstrated and analyse the LTE radio planning process. comparison with HSPA and WiMAX is made to complete the picture. Course content: LTE architecture review LTE radio interface Link budgets for LTE Coverage planning eNB configuration IDLE mode parameters CONNECTED mode parameters Capacity planning for LTE Coverage planning for LTE Coverage optimisation
