AIRCRAFT FACT & NORMAL PROCEDURES FSX ESP (Prepar 3D), & FS2004 SETUP 1, MS FSX or ESP (Prepar 3D) with SP2 patch, or MS fs2004 with sp1 patch 2, At least 400 megabyte free hard disk space for FSX installation, 200 megabyte For FS2004. 3, Define default CROSS_FEED_TOGGLE Key for cockpit position adjusting In FS2004, when press this combined keys, change eye position to rear seat (2-seats aircraft only, not necessary in FSX) 4, Define default INCREASE_CONCORDE_NOSE_VISOR Key for Rapid Combat Mode Switch, Press to rapid prepare weapon and proper firing control system modes for different combat mode. (Normal procedure for virtual cockpit only, rapid key for both virtual cockpit and exterior view.) 5, Press F2 Key when aircraft landing for drag chute working. The drag chute has actual function for decent airspeed. 6, when aircraft in air, press default canopy open key can active canopy jettison function. Press defaults TOGGLE_WATER_RUDDER Key for eject seat firing when canopy jettisoned. 7, Define YAW_DAMPER_TOGGLE Key for Pilot Anti Glare Goggle Down in day time flight. 8, FS2004`s radar have limits in GMT mode by FS2004 system limited , FSX radar can aiming aircraft on ground in GMT mode. 9, FSX version have native format models and texture system, it can not using in FS2004. FS2004 version models can use in FSX DirectX 9 rending system. So we suggest FSX version for FSX usage. 10, we apply 8* Su-30MK/MKI/SM models, 8* Su-30MKK/MKV/MK2 models with different storage and weapons. For weapons and storage delivery, pilot will follow proper procedure and Define default BRAKES key as trigger. (See procedure in section 5 and section 7) 11, For Using Build-in VCR and Screen shot functions in FSX only. Define default CROSS_FEED_TOGGLE Key for this function in FSX. 12, when using afterburner or max thrust, check engine working mode first. All multi position knobs switch left click to advance positions, and right click to reverse positions. Or using mouse wheel up or down to control. For FS2004 SDK animation limits, FS2004 model have no weapon payload mount on aircraft. It will gain more control when aircraft enter over stall maneuvers. However, we recommend even su-30 aircraft variants with TVC system, may reduce fuel and payload weight 50% less than max gross weight for demonstration flight. Emergency Gear Handle ( " $ & '')) (1) For extend gear when normal gear handle inops (no hydraulic or electrical failure), or left engine failure. (2) Pull and rotate Emergency Gear Handle to maximum position for extend gear. 1. Marker beacon Indicator (* $,-$) If Marker Beacon station working and aircraft have set to correct ILS frequency, when aircraft fly over the station, this light will turn on. 2. OM to IM Indicator (/0)12 ",0) For indicate aircraft status during it fly from OM to IM. When aircraft auto approach or fly over OM to IM manually, this light will turn on. Master Caution Indicator ('*46$) 6 /04) (1) When master caution light flash, it indicate caution message record by warn index system (#%&(*). (2) When press this button on ground, warn index system (#%&(*) will go BIT course, and display code on MFD`s BIT sub page if it has failure. (3) During flight, when this light flash, press query button on warn index panel (#%&(*) to display next message. 3. 4. Angle of Attack (AOA) Indicator & Accelerometer ("G meter") The Angle of Attack (AoA) indicator and accelerometer displays the current angle of attack and G-load. The left part of the indicator shows the AoA in degrees, whilst the G-load is shown in the right part. (1) For indicator current AoA and G-force feed from Air Data Computer. And computing Max and Min allowed G-force which display on MFD`s FCS page. (2) When Air Data Computer,s system limits channel have failure, check current aircraft AoA and G-force values, keep them do not reach red section on this gauge. AoA indicator needle G-load needle

Head up Display (HUD) For display flight navigation information and search/aim symbol vectors. Detail reference please sees Navigation & Combat Flight Section. 6. up Front Console (UFC) (1) HUD brightness adjust knob. For adjust HUD bright during 1-6 levels. Default is 6 levels. (2) HUD test button, for bring up UFC panel on su-30MKK/Su-27SK/UBK variants. (3) HUD Mode Switch (Day/Night/Grid) For auto set HUD brightness for match daylight or night flight.

When in daylight flight, set to default middle position. When in night flight, set to down position, HUD will reduce brightness. When using bomb manually mode, set to up position. 7. Air Refuel Switch, Marker Mode Switch & System Test Button 1 3

(1), Safety cover, press to open the safety cover, then operating the switch (2), OM-IM Mode Switch This is a 3-position switch. Up position for indicate Inner Marker Beacon, down position for indicator Outer Marker Beacon. Middle position for auto mode (-(./* 0.12*), this is default mode, it auto switch from OM to IM. Auto Mode working condition: Marker Beacon stations working, Landing Gear extended. Aircraft bearing to marker beacon station, less than +/- 15 degrees. (3), in flight Refuel Switch, press to active air refuel master mode. (Probe will be extended before this switch on. (4), System Test Button, press to active system test course, the warning lights will turn on, some will flash, when course completed, warning lights will turn off. 8. For indicate advisor or warning from important system. Depend on different aircraft variant, this panel has 11 lights (su-30 family) or 12 lights (su-27 family). (1) Engine on Fire Warning Light (352(&) When engine bay temperature reach to on fire number, these warning light will turn on. Temperature sensors in engine bay reach to 180 or Turbine exhaust section reach to 300, or afterburner nozzle reach to 500. When engine on fire warning lights turns on, open fire extinguisher safety cover and switch on fire extinguisher switch. (2) AoA Ny Limits Warning Light For indicate AoA and G-force over limits warning. (3) FCS Failure Indicator Light (7-9) For indicate FCS channel failure warning. (4) Hydraulic Failure Indicator Light (:1-&5) For indicate 2 hydraulics system failures (both of 2 lines pressure less than 100 Kg/cm. (5) Manual Flight Control Indicator Light (93&(;.=? ;&9A*9B) For indicate Autopilot system turn off, override or have failure. (6) ECM Radar Signal Indicator Light (1C.9A) For indicate ECM system receive target,s radar signal. When ECM and RWR system active, this light will turn on. (7) Radar Track Indicator Light (C(D;(F &.7) For indicate radar have track target, and enter lock on mode. (8) Radar Ranging Indicator Light (C(?H& -(./*) For indicate radar have tracked target and enter ranging mode, target range from own aircraft will display on HUD and MFDs. (9) OLS Tracking Indicator Light (C(D;(F 5.7) For indicate OLS (IRST) system find and track to target. (10) Approach Mode Indicator Light (357(-%() For indicate autopilot system engaged wing approach mode (11) Wing Level Indicator Light (3&1;H- % :5&1C) For indicate autopilot system engaged wing level mode. unit. 12. Barometric Pressure Altimeter (BALT) The Barometric Altimeter indicates pressure altitude from sea level. it need set correct barometric value from current airspace conditions. Altimeter Readout 13. Airspeed Indicator (IAS) The IAS gauge indicates the aircraft,s Indicated Airspeed (IAS), The speed scale ranges from 0 to 1,600. For indicate air speed. When system unit changes, this gauge will auto match system unit. Airspeed needle

14. Attitude Direction Indicator (ADI) The Attitude Direction Indicator (ADI) shows the current angles of pitch and aircraft roll. In the lower part of the indicator is a slip indicator. Changing the rudder position eliminates slipping, so try to have the indicator in the central position. On the front portion of the indicator is the required bank and pitch indicators to reach the next waypoint. When Flight Director actives, both bars are in the central position, the aircraft is following the correct course and altitude from Auto pilot system. During landings, the required bank and pitch indicator provides Instrument Landing System (ILS) direction. For indicate aircraft pitch and bank degrees. 15. Horizontal Situation Indicator (HSI) The Horizontal Situation Indicator (HSI) provides a top/down view of the aircraft in relation to the intended course. The Desired course Scale shows the required course, the ADF Indicator points bearing to the turned NDB station. the NAV Indicator points to related bearing from turned VOR/TCN station For indicate aircraft heading, set course for take off and landing. The ILS localizer and glide slope bars are in the center, indicate ILS Loc and GS. When ADF or NAV has no signal, the Mode Off tag will display. When ILS has no signal, the ILS Loc /GS no signal tag will display. ADF Mode Off Tag NAV Indicator

16. Multiple Functional Display (Right) Display HSD as default page, can be changed to other interactive pages via press functional buttons around this MFD 17. Hud Altitude Mode, Marker Beacon & Fcr mode switches FCR AA-AG mode switch (79; ;-79; 3) For Air-Air or Air-Ground Mode switch. Up position for FCR working in Air-Air weapon aim and guided mode, and air-ground unguided weapon delivery. Down position for FCR working in Air-Ground Guided weapons aim and guided mode. This mode switch will change FCR working priority match current selected weapon. When using air-ground guided weapons as HARM, AGM, LGB, or ASM, this switch will be set on AG Mode. So the AG guided weapon will have more range and aspect for lock on target. HUD Altitude Mode Switch For change Altitude readout from barometric and radar altitude source. This is a 3-position switch. (1)Up position for set HUD using Radar Altitude. This usually used when aircraft fly over terrain in low altitude. (2)Middle position for set HUD in auto mode, during flight, it using Barometric Altitude. But when aircraft in approach landing condition with gear extended, it auto switch to Radar Altitude. (3)Down position for set HUD using Barometric Altitude.

18. IRST Gain & HMD Brightness Adjust Knobs Target Span Selector (0(C( JH.1) (1) Select Target Wing Span for gun firing, or select target size for missile fuse. (2) When aim aircraft in flight with gun, using this knob to select target wing span. When aim target (in air or on ground /sea) with missile, using this knob to set target size. (Large, Middle, Small) Notice: when aim ships using ASM weapon carried on naval flanker, this knob will be set to middle or large position to filter out small ground target such as aircraft IRST Gain Adjust Knob HMD Brightness Adjust Knob

IRST Gain Adjust Knob (971.H*1H) For increase IRST sensor seeking and designating range, if weather condition and temperature reduce IRST working range. HMD Brightness Adjust Knob (=&%57F/ *7J) For adjust aim symbol on HMD (inops in current FS version) 19. Front Switch Panel 1 2 3 4

(1), Air Refuel Light (K(&L), For night refuel operating. When using this light on ground, not exceed 2-3 min. (2), HUD Reject Control Switch, 3 positions. Up Position reject digit readout elements. Middle Position is default position, no rejection. Down Position reject all elements beside ADI ladder and Velocity Symbol. (3), VCR / Gun Camera Active Mode Switch, 3 positions. Up: FSX`s default Video Record Working. Middle: Video Record and Screenshot Off. Down: FSX`s default Screenshots Working (4), Crew Operating Priority Switch, to select forward or rear cockpit pilot have priority to control aircraft. Inops in current version. (5), Build in Test button. Press to active build in test course on electrical system. (6), HMD brightness adjust knob. For adjust HMD bright during 1-6 levels. Default is 6 levels.

(7), Fore/Rear Cockpit Priority Button (&(-15 93& 357F), This button in FS have function as com1/2 transmit selector. (8), Com Radio Receive Volume Knob (739 :&5?%57F/), This Knob for active/off All receive mode for both 2 Com channels. 20. Neutral (takeoff) trim in pitch, roll and yaw indicator lamp 1 3 2 (1) For indicator trim center status on rudder (2) For indicator trim center status on Flaperon (3) For indicator trim center status on elevator 21. Hydraulic Pressure Indicators For indicate pressure from main hydraulic system. This hydraulic system driven control surface, gear, wheel brake and spoiler. 1 4

The configuration indicator for mechanical devices shows the position of the landing gear, flaps, and airbrakes. When Flaps/Spoilers working in advisor mode , aircraft airspeed over proper landing speed computing by FCS, the spoiler indicator will blink. when spoiler extended the indicator will keep on. Flaps, gear indicator will blink during they extending or retracting, when they are totally extended, the indicators will keep on. when they are totally retracted, indicator lights will turn off. 5. Landing Gear Control Lever (& '')) (1) For control landing gear extends or retracts. When extend gear, pull to down position, gear will extend. When retract gear, pull to up position, gear will retracted. After extend or retract, pull handle to middle position to lock gear and release pressure in gear valve. (2) When left engine failed and inops, using emergency gear handle to extend gear, this handle will set to retract position. The related warning light for landing gear & canopy hatch systems.

(1) Engine on Fire Indicators Left(Right) Engine On Fire, Warning Light will turn on. !Fuel Valve cut off switch, Open safety cover and turn on to cut off fuel feed to left (right) engine. "Fire Extinguisher switch, Open safety cover and turn on to active fire extinguisher on left(right) engine. (2) Air Starter switch if restart engine during flight in air when gear extended, turn on this switch, but if air starter working exceed 3 min, turn off this switch. Left Air Engine Starter. !Right Air Engine Starter. (3) Engine Working Mode Switch (&H21? -;1:(FH.=) Switch engine working mode between combat mode and training mode. When engine switch to training mode, engine rpm limited below 90%. Forward Position for Training Mode, Maximum 70% thrust Middle Position for Normal Flight Mode, Maximum 85% thrust Rear Position for Combat Mode, Full thrust with afterburner allowed. (4) Anti Surge Override Switch (733) For Cut off Anti Surge System if it have failure or inops. (5) Afterburner Fuel Pump Cut Off Switch (5F%. K5&7(21) When throttle can not cut off afterburner, turn on this switch to cut off fuel feed into afterburner in emergency status. (6) Air Intake Adjust Switch (BO3 C(0) 3 position switch Middle position for default NAutoO Mode. When during flight in air, the warning index display (97F) display NAir Inlet StandbyO, switch forward for 1-2sec, then, pull back to NAutoO position. When warning index display (97F) display NAir Inlet Auto FailureO, switch rear position (Manual Adjust Mode), and adjust air inlet using knob on air inlet indicator gauge.

(7) Leading Flaps Switch (HOCKOB) 3 position switch Middle position for default NAutoO Mode. When set to auto mode, aircraft auto extend or retract leading flaps reference from current AoA and configuration. Forward position for extend full flaps manually. Rear position for retract flaps manually. (8) Flaperon Switch (K.(3H&) Forward position for auto mode, Flaperon will auto extend or retract from 0-5 degrees reference from AoA and IAS/Mach number during flight. Rear position for cut off Flaperon control. Notice: FSX have Build-in Maneuvering Flaps System, so leading flaps and Flaperon controlled by this maneuvering flaps system for get functional aerodynamics. 11. (1) Air Conditioning Cut Off Switch, (5F%. %5*-1J) Rear Position for default status, air conditioning working, and safety cover turn off. When air conditioning system failed or inops, the warning index computer (3KPAH) indicate NTurn off Air Conditioning SystemO, open safety cover, and push to forward position for cut off air conditioning system. (2) Cockpit Temperature Mode Switch (505:&H; %(01*L) Left Position for Turn on Heater in cockpit if active de-fogs in cold and rain condition. Middle Position for Auto mode, cockpit temperature control by Cockpit Temperature Selector. Right Position for Turn on Cool mode; avoid equipment and pilots over heat in hot conditions. (3) Air Intake Protect Mesh Switch (7HF%1 ;5C-C(0) Forward position for default auto mode, when turn on this switch, the protect mesh controlled by landing gear and engine status. Rear Position turn off protect mesh manually. If it has failure during flight, warning index computer (3KPAH) indicate NProtect mesh manuallyO, turn off the protect mesh can be lock down on air intake floor. (4) AoA-G force Limiter Switch For Active AoA-G Force Limiter System. When turn on, FCS have limits on elevator trim system to avoid aircraft enter dangerous conditions. When turn off, have no limit for direct set trim bypass FCS computers.

Forward position for active the limiter, when it actives, aircraft will fly in normal mode. This is default mode. Rear position for turn off limiter, when it turns off, aircraft can fly special maneuvers such as cobra or wheel over stall AoA. (5) Nose Gear Steer Switch (93& %5.H75?) Forward Position for allow nose gear steer. Rear Position for turns off steer. When aircraft ready to taxi out, push to forward position. When aircraft engine turns off and parking, pull to rear position for turn off. Notice: default position is forward position to avoid conflicting with FS build in nose gear steering system. (6) Landing Taxi Light Switch (K(&L) Forward position for turn on Landing Light Middle position for turn on Taxi Light. Rear position for turn off all landing and taxi lights, this is default position. Notice: for using light effects for weapon launch, gun fire and flare/chaff release, we override FS default light system by switches include this switch, so do not using NLO key or FS build-in light control keys control lights. (7) Flaps Manual Control Switch (C(%&L.%1) Forward position for retract flaps. Rear position for extend flaps. (1) Direct Control Switch (2H7F% 7;1=C/) For active direct control mode. In this mode, pilot can set trim scale on elevator manually. Default position is safety cover off and switch on rear position, if want to active direct control mode, open safety cover and push switch forward. (2) Manual Trim Scale Set Switch (%Q &9A) For active Manual Trim Scale input mode. In this mode, pilot can rotate Trim Scale Knob to select scale on elevator trim. Default position is safety cover off and switch on rear position, if want to active direct control mode, open safety cover and push switch forward.

(3) Trim Scale Knob (*(2(F/ 35;H&*9F/) Manual set trim scale. Please notice this is not set trim value, but set a scale on current trim value computing from IAS/Mach number and aircraft configuration. (4) Trim Scale Indicator For indicate scale value. When scale to 1, it means elevator deflection equal to stick deflection. (5) FCS Channel Button 1st to 3rd buttons indicates failure or inops on three vertical control sub-channel, auto pilot, bank and yaw sub-channels. The 4th button indicates failure or inops on 4th vertical control sub-channel, elevator-ailerons sub channel and trim scale system. Notice, buttons default position is low position, this means no failures or inops on FCS system, when press them to high position or it rock back to high position, related sub-channels will have failure or have functions inops. (6) Yaw Damper Switch (KyPC) For active Yaw damper on rudder. When using Auto Pilot system to control aircraft maintain flight course, this will be switch on. (7) Bank Damper Switch (KPEHA) For active bank damper on ailerons. When using Auto Pilot system to control aircraft maintain attitude, this will be switch on. (8) FCS Mode Switch (7-9) Middle position for Auto mode. Left position for Flight Mode Right position for Landing Mode. Default status is auto mode, in this mode, when gear extended and auto pilot change to approach mode, FCS will change to landing mode. Otherwise, FCS will working in Flight mode. When FCS working in Flight mode, computer auto gives trim scale depend on current IAS/Mach number, AoA and flight altitude. And control leading flaps /Flaperon deflection. When FCS working in landing mode, pilot can manual control flaps, and FCS will computing necessary thrust, AoA and minimum safety approach speed for landing. 13. (1) A-313 data input status window. Display coupled navigation waypoint /station type (2) FPL mode status window, if there has a Flight Plan loaded into it, this window display waypoint count number in flight plan. If has no flight plan, this display a selected waypoint index number in nearest waypoint list. (3) Airport mode status window, if there is a selected airport in nearest airport list, this will display selected airport index number. (4) A-313 navigation computer failure window, if A-313 has no power or inops, press A-313 test button will turn on failure light. Communication, Navigation & IFF System Communication, Navigation and IFF (CNI) is an integrated system on Su-27/30. For rapid prepare on ground or reprogram in flight, pilot can use UFC control panel, ADF/INS control panel or A-313 navigation computer,s Keyboard to input data. Current status will display on these device, and MFD`s coupled pages. When active GPS navigation for current navigation mode, pilot can select ICAO code in nearest list, or input ICAO code directly into navigation system. Su-30 has advanced gauge system, which has multiple functional displays MFI-9 (MKK variants) or MFI-54 (MKI variants/Upgrade Su-27SK/J-11 variants). Large integrated display system can help pilot keep situation awareness during flight and combat mission. Red marker on roundel ring indicates decision height. 8, ADI mode button, press to change attitude indicator display mode. 9, Vertical velocity, indicate vertical speed for aircraft climb or decent. The green number "29.92/760" above it for barometric value setting. The white number right to it for vertical speed more than 30 m/s (or English unit equals to this value). 10, Colored ADI, this attitude indicator can switch between Color and Mono display. For FS gauge system limits, MFD gauge language change to English to avoid CTD error.

5, Flight clock, for indicate current flight time form FS system, press the time button to change between local and ZULU time. When display ZULU time, "Z" tag follow time readout. If aircraft have turned radio station, programmed flight waypoint, or target tracked by FCR or OLS/IRST system, the timer under flight clock will indicate estimated approach time depend on current airspeed. 6, Aircraft Symbol, indicate aircraft position 7, Nav Info, display current coupled navigation mode, distance, and bearing to enroute waypoint or turned radio station. 8, Assigned HDG, the arrow indicate required heading for auto pilot control. This heading degree from navigation or firing control systems. 9, Map Scale, adjust map zoom level by press "Up Arrow" and "Down Arrow" buttons on right of MFD. 10, HSI arrow, indicate bearing and CDI drift error to turned radio station, or enroute waypoint. 11, Course selector, indicate assigned course setting for HSI system. 12, Aircraft Heading, indicate current aircraft heading in degrees. ESM, Radar & OLS System Su-27/30 have integrated electronic support measures, it contains radar warning receiver (RWR), aircraft self-protect jammer (ASPJ), and passive decoy delivery system (Flare/Chaffs). To improve aircraft capability of electronic counter during heavy duty missions, su-27/30 can mount additional electronic warfare system pods on wing tips, replaced a pair of missiles and pylon rails. Typical pods are L-004/L-005 "Sorbtsiya", which can enlarge ASPJ capability, and prove precise guidance for anti radar missiles and anti ship missiles, such as X-31, X-59MK. Su-27/30 have N-001VE radar, which can support multiple mode for firing control system search, tracking, aiming weapons to target in air, or on surface. This radar system can detect targets within 150KM or 80 Nautical miles. To improve aircraft capability in heavy duty electronic counter situations, when radar system have jammed, su-27/30 have fixed build-in OLS (Optical IRST & Laser range finder System) to support searching, tracking target, aiming and guiding weapons which have optical guidance equipments. Typical weapons are R-73 air-air missiles, KAB laser/TV guided bombs, or X-29/X-59 laser/TV guided air-surface missiles. Up Front Control Panel, Auto Pilot System Up front control panel (UFC, UFCP) on Su-30MK/J-11B/J-15 variants is an integrated equipment for auto pilot control, approach landing (or with ILS/CVTCN), navigation mode setting, radio communication/navigation frequency adjusting, flight plan waypoint (steer point, PPM) reprogramming and IFF code setting. For typical Russian build su-30MKK and su-27SK/UBK variants, there have no UFC equipment mounted on main panel, so bear studios designed a hide able UFC box for these variants, it apply similar functions compared from the su-30MK. UFC on su-30/27 variants have 3 typical models:

Integrated Control Panel (UFC) on Su-30MK/SM/MKI.With Air-Air combat /Air-Surface combat mode pages, and control wheel knobs. It has selector rocker keys and multiple function buttons instead of soft keys array.

Up front control panel (Hide able) on Su-27SK/UBK/Su-30MKK. With same pages and different positioned buttons as ICP, but no Air-Air/Air-Surface combat mode pages button. It has selector rocker keys and multiple function buttons instead of soft keys array.

Up front control panel on J-11/J-15. With 4 lines stand alone display windows, and soft keys for control and input. Air-Air & Air-Surface combat mode pages display simple information for designated target.

ICP buttons defines with multiple function buttons on Su-30 1, Com mode button, presses to access communication page, which can set radio communication mode, band channel and frequency. 2, HUD BRT Wheel, press sequence to change head up display (HUD) brightness. (FSX only) 3, UFC BRT Wheel, press sequence to change character string brightness for up front control panel. 4 Reset/RTN Button, this is multiple function buttons, When select different line for data value input (SEL 2-4), press this button to active input mode, and reset current values for input. On the ACS (AP) page, when select line2-4, then press this button to feed current heading, barometric altitude, or radio altitude values into auto pilot register, then the ACS can control aircraft follow flight path which keeping these values. On radio communication, navigation and IFF pages, which need change frequency, or code mode (line 3), press this button to active input mode, then press again to reset value before input. When select line 1 (SEL 1), press this button to active auto thrust control (ATC) for engine auto throttle working. 5, Rocker button, this is multiple function button, press to change input lines on UFC which have no soft key arrays. Press down button to increase lines selection from 1 to 4, press up button to reverse selection back from 4 to 1. Line 2 for auto pilot mode command setting, when press rocker button to SEL 2, then press CMD button to confirm auto pilot sub mode. Please notice on Communication, Navigation and IFF pages: Line 3 & Line 4 for band channel /mode selection and data value input. When press rocker button to SEL 3, then press Reset/RTN button to active input mode. When press rocker button to SEL 4, then press CMD button to change current active channel from 1 to 2(for radio frequency), or mode 1 to 4(for IFF code), then press Reset/RTN button to active input mode.

On GPS navigation page: Press rocker button to Line 3 or 4 (SEL 3 or 4) for GPS waypoint (steer point, PPM) code selection or inputting. If on radio navigation modes, this tag display station ID when receives signal, if there are no signal, display Tag NNo SGNO 6, Flight Clock, the upward line display flight clock, which change between in local time and ZULU time by press clock center. The downward line indicates estimated enroute time on waypoint which turned or coupled. 7, NAV mode, indicate current navigation mode which coupled to auto pilot control system. Su-27/30 Basic HUD Symbols 1, The aircraft datum in the center of the HUD rotates to indicate aircraft bank and roll. 2, A heading tape appears at the top of the HUD. Tick marks are labeled in tens of degrees (e.g. the number "35" indicates a heading of 350 degrees). 3, The Target bearing triangular marker above heading tape indicate heading to coupled target (e.g. the turned radio stations, ILS system with DME equipments, the programmed waypoint, and target tracked by FCR or OLS systems). 4, To the left of the heading tape is the indicated airspeed (IAS). 5, An accelerometer is displayed under the IAS in the form of a bar scale and triangular marker. It indicate current/assigned airspeed ratio for the next target (depending on the FCS computing under aircraft configurations.) 6, A marker to the right of center indicates current airspeed more than assigned airspeed. to the left of center indicates current airspeed less than assigned airspeed. 7, To the right of the heading tape is the current flight altitude. When in approach landing flight mode, or switch to radar altitude manually, radar altitude is indicated with 1 m accuracy. Above 1500 m (or equaled English unit) AGL, pressure altitude above sea level (ASL) is indicated with 10 m accuracy. 8, The assigned altitude for the target (depending on the combat operational flight modes) is shown directly above the current flight altitude section. 9, When press INS/CMD button on MFD`s, or press flight director button on ACS panel, to active flight director mode. If the aircraft is on the assigned flight path, the flight director circle is aligned with the aircraft datum in the center of the HUD.

When auto pilot engaged to sub modes, and the aircraft flies away from the assigned flight path, the director circle indicates the direction to return to it. Notice: Do not using flight director in HAB (NDB/VOR/TACAN) navigation mode, for FSX limits, we assign the flight director function for support radar system. 10, A pitch tape is located to the right of the aircraft datum. Aircraft pitch can be read from this tape with reference to the aircraft datum in the HUD. 11, To the right of the pitch tape is a vertical velocity indicator (VVI). Aircraft vertical speed rate of ascent or descent between T30 m/s(or equaled English unit) is indicated by an arrow and a numeric value. The arrow stops at the VSI limit and the numeric value continues to change when the vertical speed exceeds 30 m/s (or equaled English unit). 12, The current operational flight mode is indicated in the lower left corner of the HUD. 13, The distance to the current coupled target(e.g. the turned radio stations, ILS system with DME equipments, the programmed waypoint, and target tracked by FCR or OLS/IRST systems) is indicated at the bottom of the HUD. 14, The numeric clock indicates local time/flight time or Zulu time. when press buttons on flight clock, time display changes during these 3 mode. 15, If aircraft have turned radio station, programmed flight waypoint, or target tracked by FCR or OLS/IRST system, the timer will indicate estimated approach time depend on current airspeed. 16, When auto thrust control engaged, the auto thrust tag will change to ATC mode. 17, To the right of the auto thrust tag is airbrake/spoiler tag. when aircraft extend the airbrake, it will turn on, when aircraft in approach landing mode, it will flash to indicate airbrake/spoiler will be extend out when touch down. 18, Flaps tag above auto thrust tag line. when aircraft in approach mode and landing gear extended, pilot can control Flaperon in flap mode manually. when aircraft exceed safety airspeed with flaps down, it will flash to indicate pilot retract flaps. 1, The HUD provides navigation data display. There are three navigation sub-modes: ?&M (GPS/SEQ/RNAV), HAB (NDB/VOR/TACAN), 357 (APR/ILS). These sub modes are selected manually by press buttons on ACS panel, or UFC panel if bring it out. 2, When HUD working in navigation modes, the FCR switch must put to Equivalent (#%;) or Off (5F%.) position, and Weapon Master Arm Switch (:.(; ;%.) must put to OFF position. So the navigation computer takes main channel to display correct date on HUD. 3, When ACS working in ?&M (GPS/SEQ/RNAV), HAB (NDB/VOR/TACAN) modes, a safety altitude computing by radar altitude system display above the current altitude. Pilot may keep aircraft above this safety altitude when make low terrain flight. 4, The Target bearing indicate drift to coupled waypoint, or turned radio navigation station, or ILS localizer position. keeps this indicator in center of aircraft heading scale. 5, Distance to coupled waypoint, or turned radio navigation station, or ILS system have DME, will display under bank scale. The Estimated Time Enroute depends on distance and current ground speed will display under flight clock line. 6, When HUD working in Approach/ILS mode, pilot extend airbrake and flaps, the tags will display near the auto thrust control tag, which indicate auto adjust engine thrust follow required

Notice: when using TOGA mode, Auto Pilot Master Switch will set to engaged position ( press down Auto Pilot Master Arm Button ((;F5?) on ACS panel, or Auto Pilot engage button on UFC panels) If aircraft configuration for approach/landing mode (gear down and locked, flaps extended, UFC switch to APR/ILS page) the spoiler tag will flash to indicate auto extend mode engaged, when aircraft touch down the runway, airbrake spoiler will raise up to help aircraft decent rolling speed. Combat Modes Su-30 has a improved fire control system. the core of this system is NO001 VE radar. this radar can support air-air and air-surface target searching, tracking, weapons ranging, aiming and guiding. In combat mode, HUD system display target vector data from fire control computer which acquire target information from radar system. For conditions which the radar system can not find and track target, Su-30 have a stand-alone OLS-30 IRST with laser range finder system. this system can support IR homing air-air missiles, laser or TV guided air-ground weapons, and unguided weapons. the OLS system can be using with radar system too. When Radar or IRST as main fire control channel, HUD have fire control mode tags to indicate different for weapon selection limits. when fire control system working in combined mode(Both radar and IRST working), HUD display radar as main channel. 1, Current IAS display indicated airspeed for own ship aircraft.(Unit depend on FS system unit setting) 2, Accelerometer marker, indicate target airspeed in Air-Air combat mode. Or indicate assigned airspeed in Air-Surface combat mode. when this marker moving to right side, the own ship aircraft airspeed more than target airspeed. when it moving to left side, less than target airspeed. if it stays in center position, own ship aircraft have almost same airspeed as target. 3, FCR mode tags indicate current fire control system working mode. "ABT" tag means automatic acquire target when radar in scan area. when it changes to "PPS" tag, means radar intercepting inbound target into own ship aircraft forward area. "ZPS" tag means radar acquire target fly away outbound from own ship aircraft. Choose different mode, firing control system can track and lock on it in different way. Pilot can set it via Front-Auto-Rear Area Switch (337-(;F-C37) on FCR control panel. "RD" tag means radar as main channel. in this mode, radar applies target distance data to fire control system. when changed to "LD" tag, means laser range finder applies target distance data as main channel. Pilot can set it via Laser Rang Finder (.-) on FCR control panel. 4, Range scale with moving arrow marker indicates target distance. when radar working in search and track mode, without weapon selected, the range scale set to maximum distance for radar system can find target. When weapon selected, it change to current weapon aiming maximum distance with fire zone limits markers. 5, GCI command marker indicates vertical and horizontal solution to target. Vertical command symbols leading pilot climb or decent aircraft altitude to nearest target's altitude, then, the horizontal command symbols give left or right drift indicate to target. when target near to center of bore sight of nose. cross marker replace the horizontal markers. If fly overshot the target, the marker become break off symbol, pilot will break off from current position and try to pursuit target again. 6, Target vector marker indicate target related position inbound to own ship aircraft. 7, Target ETA indicate estimated approach time to target, depend on current airspeed and distance between target and own ship aircraft. 8, Radar active Tag indicates radar in active mode. 9, Weapon select display, when Weapon Master Arm Switch (:.(; ;%.) to active position, and Combat-Training Mode Switch (B-90) set to combat position, Missile Ready Switch to On position, it display current weapon type and storage number. 10, Target index Tag, display current tracked target index on radar search zone. Aircraft maneuvering do not let airspeed less than this airspeed setting to avoid stall. 2, Accelerometer, indicate ratio between current airspeed to assigned airspeed. 3, Range scale for air-surface weapons. maximum to 50KM/NM(depend on FS unit setting). with firing range envelope markers for different weapon selected.

4, Target range marker, indicate acquired target range from own ship aircraft. 5, Bore sight marker, indicate aircraft nose (Radar/OLS) center position. when using Laser Target Designator guide weapons, keep target symbol closer to this marker position. 6, Safety altitude, indicate minimum altitude computing by radar altitude and FCS computer. when aircraft fly over terrain, pilot keep aircraft altitude above it to avoid collision to ground. 7, Command Circle, for some weapons, such as AGM or HARM, keep nose straight right on target can get good guidance command signal. 8, Slant to target, display when target in weapon lock on range and zone computing by firing control computer. 9, Target Symbol, indicate related bearing, altitude from target to own ship aircraft. when target inbound into track range, it have slant distance display above this symbol box. when it into lock on range and zone, a diamond box display in center of this symbol. 10, Weapon Selected, when air-surface weapon selected, display weapon type and storage number. when weapon launched, storage number will decent. Above the weapon type and storage readout, is Target index, which indicate current acquired target number in radar/OLS search area.
